The extent of AC's oval mods is basically a few bad rFactor conversions. I want to like rFactor 2's oval racing more but that game just chugs so badly on my PC when there's more than 16 cars on track so I just end up playing NR2k3 more. If you want to build up to an F1 series in AC, probably best idea is to do Formula Abarth, or the Formula 3 mod.

Try turning off the road and environment reflections in rF2, that made a huge difference for me. As much as I like the driving in rF2, that game still feels like it's treading water, with no strategy or vision.

NR2k3 is still probably the best offline oval game; provided that you're fine to sticking with Stock Car stuff. The AI is still the best, which says more about more modern racing games than NR2k3 to be honest. rFactor has a bunch of oval content if you're into single seater stuff or weird stuff and not much of that has been ported to other games - CART Extreme has made its way to Automobilista, but the 1973 USAC mod or all of the British stock car stuff is still rFactor only at the moment. I've been messing around with the first of those for the past while, its a load of fun and very different to more modern oval racing stuff

Next car in the Red Pack is another F1 Ferrari, the 2013 F138 (Edit: I'm dumb, the last video posted already was about the F138). Looks like it's fully F1 themed, there goes my dream of the red pig.

Don't know how many people watch this in here but the latest dev stream from the AC main coder has some interesting stuff. The race with the 250F he does shows some serious AI improvement, like much more AI to AI battling, drafting passes, they generally look a lot more fighty without being reckless. Still look like they're poo poo slow on the starts though and you still can't put the car in gear before the start.

Yeah I'm going to buy it because I want the Maserati and the Red Bull Ring but I just want some lovely little car that's fun to bomb around a track like the GT86 or Alfa 4C. Maybe we'll get those 3 cars in the DLC and they'll also add the first gen MX-5 and 787B that they've said are going to be added for free. Also hopefully they add some kind of pit strategy functionality so pitstops become less painful. I've seen video of the 1.7 AI improvements though and man, if that works as well as they're showing all the time they might be moving some way up the AI tier list.

Didn't they already say it would be seven cars total or did I make that up? AI sounds promising, but it always does. Also they're going from tire model 7 straight to 10 to better reflect the amount of changes they did.
