What happens if someone pratfalls into a minefield? Does the explosion have a chance to hit everywhere or still just the legs?

They get a second chance to explode. Presumably that one can hit anywhere but I haven't looked it up.

We knew this was going to be a meat grinder going into this campaign. Honestly, I'm surprised no one has died yet or been seriously crippled... well, except for those two poor Clanner bastards who wound up eating 5 pilot hits each in the previous two missions.

No, but it means you can use them to make desperation attacks against enemy `Mechs. They're basically really terrible machineguns.

You mean it's not having multiple stereo systems with their own independant cassette players to allow the PC/Mech to play inspiring theme music in their cockpit and blasting a separate Space-80's rock anthem on shoulder-speakers for all to lament that they are not that cool? I am disappointed. ;)

No, but it may very well be powered by Clanner tears.

So as far as I can tell, the votes are at:

1A) Jojoken Outskirts: 20
1B) Mt. Kalgalath: 6
1C) Morgaine River Delta: 46

Sidegrade doesn't even need a count; poor Phoenix Hawk.

I'd vote myself, but...:effort:

Anyway, seems like the mercs are headed to the swamps! I'm kind of suprised there isn't any mention that it's the perfect terrain for Clan hovertanks, assuming they have some planetside: it's the perfect place to swarm anyone unlucky enough to fail the slightly-harder piloting role. Jason especially is going to have a fun time trying to use a jump-heavy mech in an area where jumping largely impossible.

We're not fighting the Hell's Horses, so there's little danger of any of the actually good Clan tanks showing up is pretty low. Most other Clans don't rate their vehicle crews as anything more than speed bumps, and why give a speed bump the honor of defeating the Demon Hawks?

That makes me wonder if the NRWR has any combat vehicles of their own... though now that I think about it, they simply might not have enough manpower to field enough vehicles to make a difference against the Clans. CombatVees tend to get pretty crew intensive.

Vehicles don't seem to make much sense for a state that is manufacturing rich and personnel poor, given that the whole reason it seems like they see use is "We can toss a shitload of them in a garrison for way cheaper than an equivalent 'Mech force" (and the crews are endlessly replaceable).

Even buffered VDNI, cutting edge Manei Dominei stuff, has a max lifetime limit of 15 years. NRWR personnel problems probably don't permit that kind of attrition in their lifers.

Now I want to see a Kurita mission that takes place underwater so half the players/opfor instantly explode on turn 1.

Bonus points if the fluff has a Kurita Mechwarrior confused about the rats in the cockpit trying to escape.

Edit: an underwater mission just in general would be awesome. There are enough mechs designed for it that I'm kinda surprised it never really comes up in the fluff much at all.

Honestly from the standpoint of MWDA/AOD I used this unit a LOOOOT. It's so cheap to deploy and does so much damage for it's speed it's perfect for putting those overzealous uniques into risk.
