Technically, you can play Pokemon Go over wifi on a tablet or other device without LTE/4G or tethering to the same, but it's pointless. It would be virtually impossible to play outside of an incredibly dense area, like a coffee shop in Times Square or some such.

I made the mistake to chose Blue for team, .... in a city where the local soccer club main color is red. Now I have to live in a sea of red gyms. I have to go outside a few time each day to reconquer the gym just next to my home, when some punk come and conquer it. Is a weird merge of game and real life when you see in real time somebody conquering your gym, and escaping in a skateboard.

Since I don't remember the password for IAP, I can't make my inventary bigger. And is already overflooded. So visiting more pokestops is pointless. What I am doing now is tryiing to capture rare pokes, and leveling. I am really bad at it, It took me about 40 minutes walking in a park (where I had a Flareon signal) and nothing, I did not manage to catch it. So much this that I feel that the game was trolling me.

I don't really buy the argument that they had to dumb down the battles to appeal to the mainstream since the actual Pokemon games are aimed at children and the mass market too.
