D.Va is supposed to be a tank, not an offense character, and so changes made to improve her ability to tank seem more sensible than making her a flying Reaper. The problem with McCree's stun was that it went hand-in-hand with a character whose damage was completely absurd because of Fan the Hammer though. It wasn't that he could stun you, it was that he could stun you and then deal insane DPS that killed almost every character in the game instantly.

??? Being able to toggle her defense matrix is a huge advantage over slow-fire-rate heroes like Roadhog, Junkrat, and Pharah. No cooldown (presumably) on the ability means no more punishment for whiffing on it or being able to bait it out - retreat - re-engage. Between that and her boosters, there's basically no easy way to stop D.Va from charging into your team and wreaking havoc. Before now, you'd just scatter when you saw D.Va coming with matrix up, then blow her up and reassemble. Now she can just turn it off when she sees you not firing and conserve meter, instead of having to wait 10 seconds for the next matrix.

My issue with her now is that she feels like garbage to actually play due to the super slow walking speed. She basically has the range of rein with half the damage. This buff doesn't help that even if it makes her better.

I wanna know if there's a wakeup animation or any sort of delay before you can mash an escape skill. Note: don't mash escape skills, just hold the button down and you'll use it as soon as you can in most cases AFAIK.

Every other tank does a lot of damage at their respective ranges. Even shield man has a long range piercing projectile. Diva does no damage at every range except point blank, and, unless the enemy is Genuinely AFK, they can walk away.

I mean, on some maps getting a kill may only take an enemy out of the fight for 15 seconds before they spawn and run back. Being able to knock someone out for 6 seconds at will is huge. And are they still vulnerable to headshots while they're sleeping? Because if so that's probably not even making it out of the PTR.

Per designer on interview video - yes. Also you should headshot them while they are asleep.

Forcing the enemy to walk away from a point or a payload sounds like a win to me in a lot of cases. Then when they use the new range advantage to plink your head you can use a second or two of defense matrix to get behind something until your jets are on cooldown then land on their head again. I mean, I want them to tighten up her damage cone too but it's entirely possible to get kills with her right now, even at mid range. And not all tanks do a lot of damage -- She does more than Winston (assuming a single targets.) Against groups and evasive targets he's better but I'd rather D.Va against bastion and torj a lot of the time.
