Almost all of his mods are silly gimmicks. He really likes calling bethesda.net 'bethesda.human being' and 'bethesda.AIDS', too. He says the former and uses the latter in his description for one of his mods. Pretty ridiculous hate-on that guy has.

Don't use that, it's outdated. Use Scrap Everything instead.

http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/5320/

I can't play the game without this and Place Anywhere.

However, the name is to be taken in the literal sense. Everything in a settlement can be scrapped. Everything. Be especially careful when you use this in combination with the scrappall command as it removes doors to interior cells as well (Castle catacombs, Sanctuary Root Cellar, Croup Manor basement). That being said, use it and save often.

Starting to think these mods are some sort of on-going in-joke on the Nexus. Like, no one can think they're good or in any way balanced or enjoyable. I think "give everyone X-01" might be the Bad Rats of Fallout 4 modding.

I might believe that if he hadn't disabled comments on all of his mods.

The first one (X-01 for the railroad, I think) got a wall of people telling him that it wasn't lore friendly and wasn't comprehensive enough to be called an "overhaul," and it looks like he has since taken that one down.

Here is a must have quality of life mod, OddsAndEnds basically add's a NPC in Good Neighbor that sells weapons and items from installed mods, so you don't have to grind to stupid levels to make them or use console commands.

Now if only he had a sibling that sold this gear to NPC's to use, things would be pretty sweet.

Boo I was hoping this guy had some elegant way of discovering forms without a form list but he just has you run a script that preprocesses your mods and spits out a list for his mod to use.

idk man, I was involved in BG2 modding for a lil bit and among the prominent modders there was... I wouldn't call it disdain for the concept of balance, they just didn't seem to get it. It was a foreign concept. Like why wouldn't you ever have the sickest stuff from the jump? That was compounded by the problem of narrative CNPC mods tending to be mary sues who discover themselves to be archangels and stuff like that. If your guy went down in a fight, he wasn't made right.

In fairness, when I was a kid I totally cheat coded myself a BFG9000 in the first level of Doom 2 and just steamrolled everything. I thought it was fun.

To be completely honest: the balance in Baldurs Gate was crap. You basically had to sit and re-roll until you had a good enough score or the game would literally be impossible. Whats that? Wanna be a hardcore DND nerd and take the first rolls you get? Alright. You play a mage with 6 con and have 2 starting hp. Well, a slight breeze'll kill you, but surely with some tactical thinking and a bit of luck, you can make it! You get through the starting area. It's a close call, but you make it. A cutscene happens. And you end up injured in said cutscene.

the spell used to hit you isn't cosmetic only. It's mechanically the actual spell, and you aren't set in an invulnerable cutscene state. Said spell always does at least 2 hp worth of damage. You can DIE in the cutscene because you have too little health. :v:

I remember making a girl fighter who won the loving lottery. 18/00 str, 18 dex, 18 con, 10 int, 10 wis, 18 chr. She was basically unkillable beyond insta-death spells or lightning bolts (which in narrow hallways were death incarnate)

Named her Gerea and she cut a bloody swathe through the sword coast. :allears:

BG-2- modding. That is very different! You start at "end of BG1" level.

And the problem I had with BG2 modders was the loving assholes assuming everyone wanted the most enormous insane challenge possible. Why not make all my mod fights harder than literally any other fight in the game? That won't be a problem for anyone.

The same thing happens with other tactical type games. People modding it have been playing it non-stop for a decade so their frame of reference for what is a challenge is all out of whack.

You think you can take me at Satan's Hollow? Go 'head on!
I don't know if anybody can help, but I've been using mods fine for the past few days and I just tried installing this mod: http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/12465/ along with the newest F4SE and it completely hosed my mods up. They refuse to load, even after I go back to the old executable and even after I disabled the achievements mod.

It kinda sucks because mods were the only reason I'm even starting up Fallout 4 again, and I spent hours downloading whatever interesting ones I could find.

vv I looked it up and found a solution, apparently it's a plugins.txt issue: https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/4451900-pluginstxt-not-being-generated-no-mods-can-be-used/
