Yikes. Hope he makes a full recovery. Going to agree with Wise Learned Man that he should probably call it a career. I honestly don't know why they let him fight. Bellator debut in late April, another fight 3 or 4 weeks later, and now this fight. With the previous fight being a KO loss to Saad this especially looks like a really dumb decision on their part to let this fight happen.

My dad was really into boxing back in the day, and he always laughs and shakes his head when I suggest that a guy that got run out of Boston by Whitey Bulger (not that Dana was a criminal or anything; it just sounds funnier to describe him that way) and a pair of union-busting casino moguls are probably the least-scummy combat sports promoters of all time. This is some next level poo poo from Bellator though. I don't recall Coker being especially lovely in this particular direction when he was running Strikeforce (though maybe the Showtime people were more involved than the Viacom suits are now?), but especially on the heels of Dada5000 and Kimbo (not to mention that whistleblower's claims about falsified medicals), you'd think they wouldn't be scheduling he-borg so soon after a bad beating, or Mitrione just a few weeks after getting hit so hard he didn't remember getting dropped. Even just for the sake of appearances.

After the first round of EBI7 they brought out their first super fight to give their fighters a chance to rest up for the 2nd round, and the first "super fight" was kind of a cool concept. They brought out 2 13-year old girls as possible future prospects for MMA. The match took the full 10 minutes of regulation and 3 minutes of overtime. They were fighting under a more restrictive ruleset where some of the more dangerous submissions were forbidden, and it went into overtime before one of the girls finally got a submission.
