Phone posted:alright, so set up iCloud and then just use my phone to keep my windows box in sync every so often? That's what I do. It's not the smoothest solution, but it avoids having to use Dropbox. It also avoids the issue of using a shared folder and loving things up. Since every device has it's own local copy of the vault, if one of them eats the file for any reason, you haven't just lost your entire vault. anthonypants posted:yeah Ah. Yeah, I was approaching this with my own narrow use case (no other way exists, of course). I'm basically all Apple, plus one Windows workstation at work. If you have multiple non-iCloud using clients, this won't work well and folder sync is the only real non-Dropbox solution there.

Panty Saluter posted:sourceforge has been rear end on a plate for a while now the new owners are trying to turn it around back to what it was before it went to poo poo quote:Our first order of business was to terminate the “DevShare” program. As of last week, the DevShare program was completely eliminated. The DevShare program delivered installer bundles as part of the download for participating projects. We want to restore our reputation as a trusted home for open source software, and this was a clear first step towards that. We’re more interested in doing the right thing than making extra short-term profit. As we move forward, we will be focusing on the needs of our developers and visitors by building out site features and establishing community trust. Eliminating the DevShare program was just the first step of many more to come. Plans for the near future include full https support for both SourceForge and Slashdot, and a lot more changes we think developers and end-users will embrace.

where did "pup" even come from I've been telling people that it was the result of malware writers winning a lawsuit since technically since the user clicked "install" they consented and therefore it's not malware or something, I heard this second-hand is this even true

Not a surprising sec gently caress up, given the nature and beast that is AV, but I did find this surprising: Apparently MalwareBytes to be missing detection on a DarkKomet sample that is this old. MB managed to throw out and receive a combined total of 13511 packets before MB did anything. execute > steal much passwords > send to C2 > party a little bit > drink some tea > holiday in China > MB: OH poo poo IT'S BAD, DELETE IT OMG
