Not all that surprising, given the next 4 days.

He got sent to do some tests but it looked like he'd packed his bags beforehand

It's really warm weather and temperatures up to 35C are expected. Not a good day to ride a bike up a mountain.

Gorka Izaguirre seems to agree with you and has taken radical steps to not have to

It's perfect weather for the mountains. I live in switzerland and to get away from the heat I go ride up big hills. The valleys provide a nice cooling breeze as the air descends naturally off the glaciers up top, and once you're up there it's usually quite a bit colder than down at the bottom. Admittedly I'm not riding up them at 30k/hr though.

Astana looking mighty good in week 3.

I may have been a bit hasty with that. They've all blown up and Sky still have 3 domestiques looking unbothered, jesus.

Tad steep that hill

Froome looks a bit weak on this gradient

His boys are fine though. Chumping everyone else's.

I feel like Wout Poels could ride away if he fancied it.

Great from Adam Yates. The way David Brailsford has been talking him up I assume he'll be at Sky imminently.

not a lot of fans by the road

He was pretty good for like two stages in '13.

Wout looks like he could go for KotM if he wasn't being an indentured servant.

Russian doper wins, another boring Sky stranglehold... at least we'll always have Sagz. I do like Pantano, up there for 2nd after a great ride yesterday. Hope he's not going to Sky.

Just saw he's 23rd and 3 mins behind Barguil in 20th, so he could maybe break into the top 20 which is good going. Must be a few teams taking a look at him

Again with the Sagz: -gets in the breakaway -wins the intermediate sprint -stops to poo poo in someone's camper van -gets dressed while riding no-handed -wheelies across the finish line He is everything cycling needs.
