Talking bout bullfighting, in Switzerland (mainly in Valais and Jura but nowadays Vaud too) you have the Combat des Reines (Battle of the Queens). Basically, cattle of a special breed are approached to each other and they fight. They do this perfectly naturally and it's common for them to just refuse to fight, at which point they are retired for the day. No one forces them and everyone has a good time betting. It's gotten massively gentrified over the years as people with wine and enterprise money have gotten into it of course but I think it's rather sweet to watch as the occasional cow just goes 'nah, gently caress that I've had enough for today' and just buggers off and that's just part of the deal. Shadenfreude on the betters I guess though. edit: for a good example the dude says at 16:00 or so 'Well, she didn't qualify. We're going home' but he does so with a big smile. I don't know if natural fighting makes it any better, but if they aren't hurt, I guess. Twilight Zone reboot needs to have that premise but with aliens and warring Earth nations.

My problem with PETA is that they aren't truly committed to the logical end to their actions. I want to see them hunting down mountain Lions and de-fanging them to promote ethical treatment of deer.
