Depends on how far away you are and where she's pointing but it's definitely a cone that projects outward, not a half-circle. If she's pointing a 0 degrees you can shoot from something like 60-300 and do damage. Just don't go for headshots.

I think either they buffed McCree too much or everyone in solo q comp just got worse since the patch. I have a 75% win rate with McCree since the patch and have gained 5 comp levels because of it

My experience with D.Va so far is to just treat her like Rheinhardt. Keep shooting the shield (or flank her), save your cooldowns for when you see it drop. Force her into either eating the 10 second cooldown or constantly blink it on and off, at which point she's not attacking you. Or just go Zarya and give no fucks. Zarya seems to be my answer to most situations in this game.

D.Va isn't OP now, she just actually serves a purpose and has the tool for it. If a D.Va clunks up behind you and uses her Defense Matrix to eat your ult then sorry, you kinda deserve it.

I think the defense matrix is in a good spot, just maaaaaybe tweaked down a bit to not last the full 10 seconds if being shot at.

I mean, with the new DVa I literally can't think of a time you would now ever pick Winston so that might be a problem. Also her ult is probably too good. Not because of the shorter fuse but because D.Va can't die from it. I've been getting a lot of kills just pistol whipping people as they run to cover because they have so little time it makes them move very predictably.

D.Va meanwhile seems really well suited to leading flanking pushes. Like I wouldn't actually try to use her like a Reinhardt because she isn't, but playing against a team of relatively equal skill the other night on Lijang Night Market and they were getting a lot of good work on the point done by having D.Va escort in a Reaper through one of the side points, using her Defense Matrix to protect both of them while the Reaper had a chance to kill one or more people while under the matrix's umbrella, including several Death Blossoms.

For one, I didn't know the ult worked from behind. For two, the ult popped as our zarya ulted so I had prime shooting!!! Then Dva flew from the side of the point on that Nepal shrine map, the one with the big pillar in the middle.. She got speed boosted by Lucio to ninjar behind once she saw the ult pop on the kill cam. She chilled out behind me and before I knew what was happening I died since all my bullets disappeared as it turns out, her defensive matrix went through SOldier "Jack 76" Morrison's head and negated his shots!! I didn't know any of this till the kill cam though. It was a really good play for sure, I just didn't think that was what it was intended to do.

I loved D.Va before the patch and now she is just amazing. I like standing 1 metre in front of any McCree's doing their high noon bit with matrix up, it feels like some non violent protest or weird stand off, you can look into that cowboys face as he processes what is happening. Once he gives up or wastes his ult you then fly off like some gigantic retarded butterfly, it's hilarious every time. A close runner up is using matrix on whole hog.

Apparently the Ana patch buffed Lucio's wallride quite a bit. You stay on the wall longer and it transitions between surfaces much more smoothly.
