Somebody should tell the Republican party that "attack your enemies on your own weaknesses" really only worked once in 2004 and has failed them ever since. edit: Actually no one tell them, it's more fun this way.

Wait, he plays the harmonica? gently caress, I was wrong about Kaine. That is an exciting pick that will rally the country. The only things wrong with Kaine is that he's boring and hes a sitting Senator so now we'll have a special election in Virginia to fill his seat. It's like 99.997% the last thing that's the issue.

He's a big public school advocate and he and his wife (secretary of education of VA and attendee of Carver, noted black school in a segregated school district) sent their kids to Richmond city schools, which is big here. I like Tim Kaine a lot.

Despite how unlikely it would have really been, I totally wanted biden to be vp for another 8 years I hope he stays in politics or finds another way to stick around (maybe a secretary, likely as a us senator, maybe a us rep)... he is an american treasure

people are bad at reading polling aggregates. the short term trendlines in response to events don't really mean anything but people keep acting like they do!! if you're going to learn anything about november today it's by looking at how the polling behaves at relative equilibrium over a long period of time. this has been true for every presidential election this millennium, although the equilibrium did seem to legitimately shift in the fall months of the 2004 election. what i'm saying is hillary is probably gonna win by 4-7%
