I usually think people are way too whiney about special effects and stuff but whoa that trailer is really almost novelty bad. Seriously, Enterprise had better fx.

Grim dark poo poo is super popular now. Show a federation that's gotten a little morally questionable after a hundred years of fighting the borg.

Netflix isn't going to carry this lump of poo poo across the line for CBS. Its going straight to Vimeo for season 2.

I was all excited for the new show because they got the Wrath of Khan guy working on it but that teaser was utter trash. That's poo poo you include as part of a behind the scenes extra on the blu ray if anywhere at all, not what you use to try to sell people on your new project e: screencaps of it look like a still from Star Trek Online, a lovely free to play mmo

Normally a new Trek series would make me very excited but sadly I probably will lose interest quickly due to the hassle involved in watching it. I'll have every intention of a binge watch after season 1 comes out, but I'll get busy and lose interest and maybe accidentally read a few spoilers online but not really care and finally watch it in about 11 years like I did with DS9 because it was on network my cable company didn't carry.

Those effects have GOT to be placeholders - which makes me wonder if people making this show have seriously poor judgment for showing it in public.

They should probably sell the subscription by the year considering that traditional networks have new content like three months out of the year.

I never got into star trek in my youth. Enterprise is the only one that came out in my adult life but I think it was cable only which I didn't have. I seriously watched most of the poo poo via syndication on a UHF tv set in the 90s until the advent of netflix, and not very regularly. I only watched DS9 in the past two years, thanks to netflix. I only recently got some sort of "cable" recently after years without any sort of broadcast tv in my house, and thats the Sony Playstation Vue or whatever, if that ties into that and I don't have to pay for it, like I understand certain channels are like, then maybe, otherwise I can't be bothered. I especially can't give a gently caress about a weekly broadcast poo poo because gently caress if I'm going to set my tv watching to a calendar and not just binge watch when I'm feeling particularly shut inish. CBS basically acting like its 95 again with this poo poo. No one will watch it and it will be "GUESS NO ONE WANTS STAR TREK WE TRIED" like mother fuckers way to miss the point

I don't plan on paying if I do wind up watching it, but it's still a hassle. I'm really excited to watch the second season of Kimmy Schmidt, but still haven't bothered yet. I just need a new TV because if I want to watch something I've downloaded I have to convert the file and burn it to DVD. I just keep putting it off because this TV works fine and is huge. Someone should start a company where you get a box of 3rd world children who will watch your downloads and memorize them and act them out for you in your living room in HD.
