I keep forgetting the Charter system exists. Maybe it's suppression. In more fun news, ARCA on FS1 now from IRP .

Heat is one of the primary reasons I haven't gone to Mid-Ohio for either NXS or IndyCar despite being a little over an hour away. The two races I've attended in the day at Daytona in July ('07 Busch, '14 400) were bruuuuuuuuuuuuuuuutal. I took a cooler with four frozen water bottles and all of them were nearly thawed by the end of the race. I wore sandals the first time to try and keep my feet cool and almost burned them, so I wore tennis shoes in 2014 and wound up taking them off anyway.

Really pumped for the race tomorrow, despite the ESPN article about dwindling crowds and lack of luster at IMS bumming me out a bit. I'll be in the grass with a cooler, hopefully we can stay cool. I plan on being piss drunk while cheering for Stewart and Gordon. If any goons end up at the track, PM me and come say hey. Supposed to be 102 by 11am. Fuckin' hell. Glad i'm not in the bleachers. Piss on that.

Group qualifying is another NASCAR rule change in recent years which probably nobody cares about.

e- gently caress, this was supposed to be an edit & addition to the previous post. Expanding the list from before: CBJSprague24 posted:Gordon's doing a press conference right now and he mentions the aero package being more like 2014 than 2015 and also having to get used to the digital dash. The combination of that and Gluck's article gets me wondering how many changes in terms of rules and visible aspects of the sport there have been in the Brian France era of NASCAR. From memory: LASTCAR posted:I'd also add Some of those things weren't too bad. The Summer Showdown was a No Bull 5-like gimmick I wouldn't mind seeing back, AIR TITAN has improved rain delays, and the Duels being run at night are fine because people can actually watch them, but there are some other duds in there, too which I added above.

This is true, but it's surprising how many gimmicks have been attempted in addition to the rule changes.

Jeff Gordon had to have changes made to his firesuit for this weekend because the "Four-Time Champion" logo below the Sprint Cup logo read "06-07-08-09" as his four titles. '07 should be on there anyway.
