It's for a chinese cell phone number, 155+8 digits. Good luck receiving whatever it is they send you, though. Seems to be either a signup for testing or just text updates on news.

It's about time for my once per decade ban for being a consistently terrible poster.
As I start replaying this game, I am reminded what actually made me play this incredible piece of poo poo the first time: There's so much that would be amazing in the hands of a more competent team. It's a kung fu game where you can learn all the kung fu, rather than just having a kung fu flavored class like any other mmo. There's all sorts of crazy poo poo like an alcohol tolerance system and random NPC quests and dudes that go on wild murder sprees being put in jail to be executed. They go balls deep on the kung fu training cliches, like meridians and formation training and all medicinal pills. It really is does have the foundations of a great game.

It's just built on a river of poo poo and apathy. Here's hoping 2 swings as big so it can be entertaining for as long as this was.

The dev blurb mentioned:

- Judging damage based on character state/appearance rather than HP bar.
- Learning/stealing martial arts from watching masters fight.
- NPCs that can create villages and do their own thing.

A more competent team wouldn't have put in all those systems. No, AoW was the best bad game, and any attempt to make it better would make it poo poo.

I absolutely hope this is true because this means the drunken dance style of spitting alcohol at people will ACTUALLY damage them.

I honestly wonder how long that idea will last.

That or we're all just going to have to memorize a damage chart with pictures of appearances on it instead of looking at a simple loving bar for the sake of ~muh immersion~

Yeah if there wasn't so much paying to win and wait around for million hours to cultivate skills it would have been a much better game. The foundations of it all were interesting and pretty drat unique but snail just went overboard from seeing people drop 10k a month to be the very best.

Reminds me of a game I played a while back. It passed several publishers' hands until eventually a Canadian company bought the international license.

Eventually a friend and I managed to gain access to... everything. They were not very competent about their security. One week we noticed a shady character showing up at wartime, and due to the nature of the game (extremely grindy, PvP oriented with scheduled 3-way wars, small community), a player like that not being recognizable was quite suspicious. So I decided to use my privileged access to look into it.

I found out that this character had been created a week prior, had no leveling history, and had items valued at several thousand dollars. I managed to link it to a GM, and found out that several GMs were creating characters and gear for themselves. A little more digging led me to find out that they were stealing inactive accounts, selling user data, and generating items to be sold through third party means, an activity they publicly condemned and would ban players for.

I gathered all evidence I had of this and posted it anywhere relevant before I quit playing the game. It didn't do much, but a year or two later the publisher collapsed through its failure to turn a profit.

Dragon Raja. It's a really old Korean MMOG. Officially released in 2000 but was in closed beta since '96. The stuff in my post happened in 2004-2006. After that it's been revived a few times through private servers and generally more competent people, and there's apparently still an active server.
