I know everyone has been waiting with bated breath for news on my replacement crown, so here it is: That's the model they made of my jaw, with the temporary crown in place. The real crown seems pretty good, and I'm hoping it'll last longer than the last one. And in case I ever murder any of you and leave a piece of cheese I bit off at the scene of the crime, please don't doxx me.

ok since i missed yesterday's picture AND yesterday's gym time i set out today to make it up to you by climbing the mountain to take a picture from the top. also i had a poke egg that needed hatching but that's neither here nor there things started out pretty well. this is the old barn at the entrance of the park. i love that old thing and i'm going to cry when it falls down view from my favorite path shortly after the entrance of the park you cross this old as hell bridge i'm pretty good with bridges so i suspect this one was built around 1924 shortly after the bridge is when this plan went to poo poo they closed my loving trail so now i'm diverted to something that is more likely a mountain lion path than a human path so this is where i start rethinking my choice to walk alone. i'm not kidding when i tell you the mountain lions live here. there are sightings weekly. when i can walk on the main path with lots of other people around i figure my odds are pretty good that i won't be the one selected for brunch, but now i'm all the gently caress alone. but i love you guys so much and i promised you a picture so i soldier on. and i'm not exactly rewarded. this trail comes out to another trail that is clearly not going to the top of the mountain and when i ask some dudes where i am and how to get where i want to go they go "we don't know. we just wandered over here because the other trail was closed." that's when i start to think that a trail map would be a good thing to carry next time. so i take the side of the mountain picture which is not even close to the top of the mountain picture in terms of awesomeness and turn the gently caress around and then it happens. mountain lions. standing there right on the side of the mountain. a mom and 2 babies. they stop and stare at me and i stop and stare at them. then it occurs to me i should take their picture and i do and then we leave each other alone for just this once. sorry for the crappy picture. i was trying to escape with my life

It was a crappy day at work, and my regular Tuesday rendesvous didn't yield any pictures (I figured you didn't want to see sweaty, muscular college guys jogging past me). So, I was just now sitting out on the deck with the dogs enjoying some nice brandy and just looking up at the stars, wondering what I could photograph for BYOB. Then, inspiration struck. I was pleasantly surprised by the colors! (That's 30 seconds at f/4.5 and ISO 800, btw)

I find it really frustrating that these three photos I took look so great to me anyway. These were with my phone. It was an absolutely lovely weather day. Fog everywhere. I just thought it'd be fun to photo these tanks before I went into the Evergreen museum. After going through all my photos, these throwaways are the best looking thing I got that day. The light did not look as good as it does in the photo when I took them though. It was an hour after sunrise, fog everywhere. |

FluffieDuckie posted:pet the kitty My usual policy of touching brightly colored flora and fauna is "gently caress that", and the internet has helped me confirmed its the right decision. Apparently, that's an American Dagger Moth's caterpillar. And the little hairs on it release a toxin that causes painful welts and swelling. I'm on to your poo poo, mother nature.

I wish I could get a better picture of the hawks that have been hovering over my place this year, but I can't. I've been here forever, and this is the first year that I've seen hawks on a regular basis. This year I've sometimes seen three or four at a time.

Cosmo likes chillin' on his back. Here he is in the bar near my desk just waiting for something fun to happen. And no, his eyes aren't really that scary. And yes, the cabinets in the bar WERE installed in 1973. Why do you ask?

Today's entry. I'm really not very inspired today, even though it was a pretty good day. So, here's a picture of the most comfortable chair ever made. I got a pair of them from my ex as a birthday present in the year 19 (mumble mumble). Ux will appreciate this because they're Ekornes Stressless 'Golf' chairs made in Norway. Again, sorry for the uninspired post, but it IS part of what is around me!
