In the "in the running for something significant" sense rather than the "bad first half of season, good second half" sense. P1's games last night against NV were good and fun to watch, but they were closer than I would have been comfortable with because they happily went nearly an hour against a team with a Kog'maw carry and at that point they were always a slight fuckup away from losing like in game 1.

And in the time I typed this they won a drake, a teamfight and then the Baron within 3 minutes so maybe I am a bad LoL Monday morning quarterback.

I think there are some things p1 could have done better against the Kogmaw comps but Kog is actually coming back into the meta now and not just some random pocket/cheese pick.

It's not so much that: P1 seems to like their slow grindy splitpush comps, but that gave NV a lot of the time they needed to get farmed up. In game 1 the entire NV base was in ruins but they lost one team fight and that was all Kog needed to go through their center lane like poo poo through a rat.

That said, P1 just slapped Immortal's poo poo like it's their job, so maybe I'm overthinking this.

If P1 loses and NRG wins by some miracle, I think NRG would take the tiebreaker for seeding in the promotion/relegation tournament. IMT also doesn't have much to lose since their seeding cannot change at all.

Afreeca has one extremely good player that enables them and they're learning to use him to get other lanes ahead. P1 had literally a random solo queue jungler.
