So I downloaded sif a year ago and started playing yesterday and like it a lot more than I remembered. But the English version doesn't seem to have the sunshine stuff yet? Is it worth abandoning the 80 or so hearts in server downtime or w/e I was given to start on the faster version?

If all you're after is the Aqours girls and you're willing to deal with the Japanese (and likely not understanding the story parts), then go for it, but both have plenty of content for new players.

A while back I wondered if there was a list of idols for MV-related purposes and here I found one (from naver, helpfully formatted in a pretty awful multi-page way). I'm pretty sure it's just event songs and the few songs you had to buy off the jukebox, although everything else is easy enough to get the order by going through the commus, I guess. Maybe sometime I'll make a proper list*. Oh, also if you try to shoot that into google translate you'll probably have to manually plonk each page into it — the page buttons' script and google translate's page-rewriting stuff don't play nicely with each other. Well, that and the obvious problem of people's names being turned into various fruits and poo poo, but that's machine translation. Also jesus do I have to cover my hands in talc or something? I can't slide for poo poo in this weather. * Or just go through this wiki whose song page I won't link to because it uses japanese in the url and SA won't like that. But on the left under 音楽 is a song list, and that lists who goes where, for when it matters. e.g. You're Stars Shine On Me doesn't list any, because the only important person is Anya, but Memories lists Minami as 2nd Left and Anya as Center, under the「立ち位置」subhead. Do note that it lists songs where they are now, so event songs are only split off from their type if they're a rotating song, whereas stuff like AbsoluteNIne or Tulip are in with the rest of the untyped songs, because that's where they live now. Others are cringeworthy but you can tell early if the chapter's gonna be lame and just speed through it.

It worked out more accurate than @cindere_border in the previous event but I wouldn't rely on it too heavily yet. Also I should round the numbers to the nearest 500 or whatever like they do, but I can get to that when I decide how accurate it is.

I've been keeping up with my goal to get about 15k points per day in the EN event. I was running close to a net 10 loveca negative, until Chika's birthday + login bonus + anime bonus along with a few errant daily FC rewards shot me right back up to neutral. Sitting near 60k right now, although I might start cutting back with the work week starting. Current predictions are putting T1 cutoff in the 110-120k range, with my current trend putting me at around 160k if I kept up. Does it do the math 10x a day or is that just the present scaling? Also lol fell 50k places while not playing. Leveling up at the beginning of an event isn't that helpful

So are these events just impossible if you can't reliably beat hard mode? 28k at 100 per normal win seems unlikely in a week.

I think it's possible to get the SRs with just Normal, especially since you should get several levels, but it'll be a grind for sure. If you're just starting now, yeah, you might be out of luck without burning gems. Hard is much more manageable for events. If you're at all close to being able to do Hard, I'd load up a healer team and use the event to improve, not worrying about score or the SRs, since it'll give you experience at a variety of songs and you'll get some portion of the event rewards.

It's every 3 hours, the scaling is just how it comes out when I tell it to make the chart 1440x900 (arbitrary choice). But yeah, I'm just comparing against the previous 8-day Groove from May right now, I might try averaging in a second event for fine-tuning depending on how this goes.

In SS, is there a way to tell who's been max bonded (or whatever it's called in SS) when you're trying to eat unneeded idols to clear up space? I feel like not knowing who I can safely dispose of and ending up stuck at capacity is a good part of why I've never really gotten into the game.

My mental guideline is that once I've idolized an R or N, it's ripe for feeding away since support/main teams basically just draw from SR/SSR. I do keep a couple around if I really like the card, or if I'm trying to grind out fans (like for Nono).

If it's another copy of a card, you'd have to go to the album and see if the idolized version has all the clips available. But if it's the first you had and you're not sure, a long hold will bring up the info sheet and the first page of that has the bond (nnn/x00 💖) . But other than that there isn't really an easy way. If you just want to see if they've been idolized the first tab of the idolize screen will list everything you have and if it's been idolized in the past the idolized version will be shown as a thumb on the right. eta: Max bond only really matters if you're going to use the card, unless you're collecting all the little bond-level clips, though. So if you don't care about that it doesn't really matter. All you'll be missing are those little clips and the stat boosts, which don't matter if you're not going to use the card anyway. If you have something you can idolize, it'll default to its rightmost tab, otherwise it'll default to the leftmost 全て tab, which shows all unidolized cards. If you've already idolized any copy of a card you have, it'll look like the top three, with a thumbnail of the idolized version on the right. If you haven't idolized it before, it'll be like the last one, with a question mark.

So what is this I hear about Passion, Cool, and Cute teams? Is there a reason to have teams entirely of one type for Live Burst events? I'm curious about this page on the SS guide I usually use.quote:Usually a certain attribute (vocal, dance, or visual) getting a 150% appeal bonus, which will net you higher applause levels and grades. Your grade at the end of the groove affects how many event points you get, and higher difficulties yield more event points. Unfortunately for you overachievers, a multi-song full combo doesn’t give anything except a pat on the back.

Though if you were able to get your hands on one of the new New Generations SSR that give a +100% boost to Vocal/Visual/Dance if and only if you have all 3 of Passion/Cool/Cute in your team, it's recommended to just do a straight up tricolor team with the relevant SSR centering your unit. But yeah, the boosts on this event come from the attribute being focused on (as noted in your quote) as well as whatever type of Groove you roll.

Sylphid posted:So what is this I hear about Passion, Cool, and Cute teams? Is there a reason to have teams entirely of one type for Live Burst events? I'm curious about this page on the SS guide I usually use. Each song actually has a +30% to all appeal types for its matching type, so a cool song has +30% to cool cards. So you do want to play cool songs with a cool team. Plus a groove (this one's visual) gives +150% to that type of appeal, although I think that's across the board, and not just cool groove +150% visual boost to cool cards. Similarly when you're picking a guest, you get their center skill's bonus, which usually gives +30/60/90% of an attribute (or all attributes) for its card type (cool/cute/passion). So generally a mono-type team is a good plan if you want big shiny numbers. Unless, as noted, you have the new gen cards. :/ They're kinda a trap for a guest position because of that, though. FWIW, since you can have 9 teams I have a 'biggest overall numbers' team for each type, and then a second one of each type for events. Thankfully, you can auto-fill a team by appeal type, although you'll probably have to tweak that to add back SSRs or healers or to not have a team that's all Score+15% or whatever. It isn't as drastic a difference as say, playing a smile song with a pure team in SIF, but it all adds up. Futaba Anzu posted:Max bonding high appeal idols is still favorable because it boosts your support unit score Play more, have an army of SRs as supports, which of course you max bond because they're shinier. vvv. Your center boosts cards of their same type, so you'd want a passion team with her at the center, for a passion groove. And that'll get a greater score than if you did a cute groove with that team. And a greater score'll mean a greater applause rating, assuming you performed the same (i.e. didn't miss like 30 notes in a row and demolish the applause score like that). That said, that Yuki is a vocal booster, and for biggest numbers you'd want a visual booster as the center, if you have one. Zenostein fucked around with this message at 04:22 on Aug 2, 2016 |

So an SR Yuki Himekawa from the last event as your center + Passion Groove would give you the best applause meter, if you got the same general score between a Cool or Cute Groove with that same Yuki as the center? Edit: also, before it gets lost into the mists of history, I'd like the record to reflect I just Full Combo'd Never say never on Pro, but it was during a Live Burst, so it won't show up in the normal song selection. Yeah, sometimes I favorite something if I know I'm not going to get to it for a while, but with Ns I figure if I eat it by accident it'll come back around sooner or later anyway. And I don't really have any unidolized/lv.1 Rs sitting around, so those aren't at too much risk. Your idea works, except the 'accept all' button is just too tempting. I do wish it was a bit smarter though — it's smart enough to take energy drinks that'll expire first, but it doesn't do any sorting within the ones that expire to pick the oldest. Idk, maybe it just goes from the top down, but those are the only things I manually accept. Thank god for the filters. Well, that and I need those event SRs to eat all these normals I end up with. Selling them seems like a waste, really. Well, except the lvl. 1 ones I get from the gatcha. Those are all but useless.
