It's funny, because hair is regarded in many cultures as a magical battery, and this even has biblical justification in the story of Samson. So it stands to reason that a dragon in human form might need truly magnificent hair in order to hold their immense magics.

OP what is your opinion on the practice of dragon-slaying? I know it gets a bad rap from a lot of folks but with modern conservation laws it doesn't effect populations much and the money acquired from licenses and fees actually help the species in the long run. Also lancing a 300+ year old bronze from the back of an ATV never gets old

I know it gets a bad rap from a lot of folks but with modern conservation laws it doesn't effect populations much and the money acquired from licenses and fees actually help the species in the long run. Oh sure. It's merciful in some cases. The sick and the weak, and all that. The thing is, dragons are fiercely territorial and so tend to regulate their own populations fairly well, because overcrowding automatically triggers a cathartic self-culling. So it follows that dragon slaying is, contrary to established wisdom, actually more called for among docile eastern breeds. But for obvious cultural reasons this doesn't fly. China's current ecological crisis can be easily understood in this light. It is true though, that slaying western dragons at least avoids some of the damages that can result from a territorial purge. Ray Bradbury posted:The night blew in the short grass on the moor; there was no other motion. It had been years since a single bird had flown by in the great blind shell of sky. Long ago a few small stones had simulated life when they crumbled and fell into dust. Now only the night moved in the souls of the two men bent by their lonely fire in the wilderness; darkness pumped quietly in their veins and ticked silently in their temples and their wrists.

Decebal posted:What's with Dragons and their boners for gold&gems OP ? they from the magpie family ? Gold represents wisdom, and gems represent godforms. As a demon, the dragon is trying to regain the holy but can never do so, much like Milton's Satan in Paradise Lost, only unlike Milton's Satan the dragon is either stupider or has a different aesthetic sensibility and is more content with a hollow accumulation of purely symbolic good than with making evil their banner in perpetual reaffirmation of the fall.
