https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=149Fln0DtUc The song Birthday by the Sugarcubes, Bjork's band before she went solo. It's a really beautiful song, but it might be about a 5 year old girl's sexuality?? She lives in this house over there, has her world outside it. Grapples with the earth with her fingers and her mouth, she's five years old. Thread worms on a string, keeps spiders in her pocket, collects fly-wings in A jar scrubs horse flies and pinches them on a line. she's got one friend He lives next door, they listen to the weather, he knows how many freckles she's got, She scratches his beard. she's painting huge books, glues them together, They saw a big raven; it glided down the sky, she touched it. Today's a birthday, they're smoking cigars, he got a chain of flowers, Sows a bird in her knickers, they're smoking cigars, lie in the bathtub, chain of flowers.

Greenday - Good Riddance aka quote:I hope you had the time of your life!! which used(?) to be played at graduation ceremonies is less about wistfully looking back on the good times of your life and more about how life is a bitch and when bad poo poo happens you just have to accept it. Maybe good for those who flunked out. Bruce Springsteen - Born in the U.S.A. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EPhWR4d3FJQ Actually a song about how Vietnam vets were treated like poo poo when they returned from war. quote:Born down in a dead man's town Sophy Wackles fucked around with this message at 02:12 on Aug 13, 2016 |

I was corrected on the real meaning of the REM song "Losing My Religion", but I took it for a long time to be a song more about the band dealing with their transition from smaller artists to gaining some mainstream popularity in the wake of their Green album. In short: The song is about the criticisms, doubt and struggles of thinking they're selling out by becoming and staying famous. When actually the song is just about getting angry.

I guess you could say you "red" too much into that song (the joke is the song is about the guy seeing "red" [angry] but instead the guy READ too much into it which is the joke the words sound the same but they mean different things but they almost kinda both apply in this situation )

The Willing Well I: Fuel for the Feeding End is about how God is some emo moron in upstate New York who doesn't own a shirt, and he's so butthurt about his girlfriend blowing some other guy that he decides to kill the universe that he created, so he goes into the universe and kills an angel that he created based on his girlfriend to make his own analogue in the universe emo enough to go Super Saiyan and blow up the galaxy. He does this all while carrying on a conversation with a bicycle. I didn't make any of this up.
