All the studios brought in to make the first wave of Vita games have been shut down or merged with other teams.

As matter of a fact, Guerrilla Cambridge will be making their second game for the PSVR

Help me, Vita thread. Here I am buying random poo poo on ebay and I come across a copy of Seaman 2? For a mere $7? Snagged. Didn't even know that was a thing.

Well, I guess I did find out why I wasn't aware of its existence as, it turns out, requires this ridiculous looking device:

But anyway, this isn't what I wanted to tell you guys about, no, among all the rolled-up Japanese newspaper, a teabag of green tea (love it when they throw in random bonuses), there were also these (clearly) very collectible, very rare Vita thingies:

Are there any games similar to Dragon Quest IX (Which was a Nintendo DS Release) on the Vita, with random enemy generation with an RPG format on the Vita?

As well as I heard there was Monster Hunter on the Vita, was it good?

On the moon... they don't make Neo Kobe Pizza.

Every hunting action series except Monster Hunter is on the Vita, unless you want like uh the old PSP ones yeah those work on it too.

You've got
- Toukiden: Kiwami & Toukiden 2 (almost literally Monster Hunter but in post-apocalyptic Feudal Japan, less grinding)
- God Eater Resurrection & God Eater 2 Rage Burst (Monster Hunter in post-apocalyptic Future Japan, some grinding, cool guns)
- Soul Sacrifice Delta (Monster Hunter in post-apocalyptic Grimm's Fairy Tales, made by Keiji Inafune before he became a con man, is really good)
- Freedom Wars (Monster Hunter in a different post-apocalyptic Future Japan, has guns and grappling hooks, also the worst crafting system ever)
- assorted untranslated ones you can't play unless you know Japanese or have a translation guide (Phantasy Star Nova)

I was debating once I get paid to order a 2000 or 1000 (I don't really know which to get because I heard there was issues with both the 1000 and 2000 with memory and using two sources of memory at once.) Vita so I could play stuff like this! Also I heard Monster Hunter frontier G was on the Vita apparently?
I was planning on homebrewing it so I could also get JP games on the device and switch between a NA and JP acc.

Either that or I could go about and pick up a new 3ds because mine is stupidly broken and homebrew that.

Vita memory issues are that the cards are stupid expensive. The 2000 comes with 1GB internal that becomes inaccessible with a memory card inserted.

You can play physical JP games on the Vita with a US account, but you won't have access to DLC (game updates will still install in their own, though). Account switching requires a full system factory reset before you can log in to the other account, which will require its own memory (be it its own card or the aforementioned internal memory).

It's a great system with some serious flaws.

I just heard that with the most recent homebrewing you'd be able to switch accounts on the Vita to be able to access the JP DLC and stuff.

Edit: Nevermind MicroSD cards aren't usable, the prices for the Memory cards are fuckin' ridiculous what the hell.

Monster Hunter G Frontier is an incredibly lovely and grindy F2P MMO so I wouldn't consider that an option, especially since you'd have to jump through a bunch of hoops to even play it.

Oh god, gross. I thought it was going to be like an original monster hunter game, heck that then.

I'm planning on ordering a Japanese Vita because no retailer around here carries Vitas anymore (I live way out in the boonies in Canada), plus I'd love to have a nifty sky blue vita!

I heard Borderlands 2 was absolute trash on the Vita unfortunately, that was one of the titles I was excited about actually for the Vita.

Get one of the two EDF games if you want a good co-op shooter, or Killzone Mercenary if you want a good FPS.

Borderlands 2 on the Vita is playable but is the worst way to experience the game. If you want Borderlands 2 on the go, it'll do, but there are games that play better on the Vita and you'll probably just rather play it on whatever else you have. If you just want an FPS, Killzone: Mercenaries is just a really good FPS that happens to be on the Vita. If you're after a LootGrind game... the Vita's actually kinda lacking in good loot-grind games, thinking about it. There's PSO2 on a Japanese Account if you're willing to delve into the language barrier, I guess, or PS Nova if you're willing to do the same in an diminished, offline setting, and Dragon's Crown if you want a Loot 'Em Up brawler, but tastes tend to be divisive on that one.

Monster Hunter G Frontier is an MMORPG. I dunno exactly what makes it 'grindy' in a way that Monster Hunter isn't already grindy, but it also has zero offline, so you'll have to be on a Japanese account to play it, similar to PSO2, and have an internet connection available. MH Freedom Unite from the PSP is still available though, and is probably the best Monster Hunter title not on the 3DS, and of the MonHun-alikes, I can give a recommendation to Soul Sacrifice Delta, with God Eater 2 coming out at the end of the month probably at least worth a look.

Yes, but you have no access to online because you can't login to PSN on 3.60 which is the firmware that homebrew is on. It's basically not worth the effort currently.

I'd suggest the 2000 if you want a Vita. It uses a regular micro B usb cable to charge and gets better battery life. The oled screen on the 1000 is nice but not worth the drawbacks.
