I didn't think things could get more adorable than those squeaky boots, but then they actually started eating the donuts at the end. a kitten posted:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=np8V9xdRsP4 Oh my god, I'm dying over here.

Tsumugi is growing too powerful. Between her witch dances and power-up skills she'll destroy the city if she ever burns a dish.

I only just noticed they skipped a couple of manga chapters in there, probably because they were too much cooking and not enough feels. Would have liked to see sensei making fried chicken while everybody else hides in the next room though. On the upside, yay Yagi!

I don't remember if it was this manga or What Did You Eat Yesterday? but one or the other of them taught me the difference between weak and strong flour -- I knew there were different types but had only heard them referred to as cake flour or bread flour etc. and also have never done much baking so when I first ran across the terms they were a total mystery.

Iirc it's at the end of volume 2 of this manga.

not sure if it's something with me or with presentation, but i feel like i got a little teary at every chapter of the manga but haven't had that response to the anime once. but, also, it's super cute and the first thing i keep up with when a new ep shows up.

I was chalking up most of it to having already read it so it's not quite the same as the first time through the story, but skimming through the few things that have been skipped over I think maybe they're holding some of the sting back so it stays sweet and cute and light to start off with. e: ahh poo poo I was skimming through the chapters and hit one that made me cry lol Everything Burrito fucked around with this message at 04:32 on Aug 5, 2016 |

It does seem a bit less impactful, possibly because they've eliminated the internal monologues. Also they've had three episodes by this point that end with "Tsumugi says food is tasty, dad almost cries, Kotori hides a wistful smile." I also sort of miss the hypnotoad eyes from the manga, which makes everyone look more ... organic? emotional? maybe?

It's almost as weird as the one episode of Shirayuki, where Funimation managed to mix the next weeks audio into the current episode.
