Booking someone for a one shot is a little different from giving them regular work

And I would speculate that Ryback would also actually want 'money' probably 'more money' than RoH's actual good wrestlers make, to appear. The Headbangers and Kevin Sullivan probably did it for a sandwich and bus fare

It seems telling that he didn't go to TNA when Sandow did. His asking price was probably too high for them, because he seems tailor-made for a 'Salty At WWE' run in the ol' Impact Zone (which Sandow is doing now).

Regarding the Headbangers thing: it's possible they were booked as compensation for their promoter's license. Rockin' Rebel, who is a terrible worker and an unrepentant piece of poo poo, used to work ROH the same way. They'd use his license, and in return he'd get to be on their show. It's the kind of deal that requires one to be a huge mark for oneself, but there's plenty of those types in the industry.

headbangers had multiple shows of build up as mystery men though

also jim cornette was widely panned at the end of his tenure and was fired

Yeah, but the whole crux of Ryback's firing was from a shoot he did where he was complaining about people not being paid on par with upper talent.

I'd figure the last thing he'd want to do is go someplace where he'd often not be paid at all.

Was going to post about Bryan a few weeks ago. Was he immediately unhappy with being on screen personality. Right after the first real Smackdown show. The biggest gripe I heard is that he found the constant script changes difficult. We've all seen him flub lines the past few weeks.

I wouldn't rule out TNA, there is a possibility he just has a no television for x amount of months deal as part of his release, which is why we're only just seeing Sandow on TNA after being released months ago. I'd rather him go to Japan or Mexico and stay away from cutting promos, but with the way TNA is going, they're probably looking at giving all the guys wasted in WWE, regardless of talent, a shot because who knows if they have another Brother Nero or EC3 kind of revival in the person's career. I could be wrong as hell, and those non-compete for x amount of time aren't a part of their contracts, but I would guess they do.

Ryback's value is arguable but at least he realizes he's worth something. He'd never fall for TNA's horseshit.

Man maybe the test isn't 100% solid but when Bryan admitted to hiding post-concussion seizures for years I don't blame the WWE for clipping his wings at all

They watch it illegally because few young people have cable, let alone the cable package required for El Rey or the Fight Network

Or like TNA few people actually care about it outside of TNAMecca types and thus the majority of the audience is old wrestling fans.

Also on LU the channel itself is nostalgia-zone for the 70s and 80s, so that might also skew the demo slightly older.

I'm surprised that the average wrestling fan is THAT old, tho. I'd have assumed mid 30s, not mid 40s. I guess there are more 80s fans that stuck with the product than kids that started watching in the 00s.

If they can get paid that's great. I'd love for someone to do what I was doing with making street fighter gifs and all that crazy poo poo.

At this point I am pretty sure my hands are wrecked, and I can barely keep up with my day job so I'm probably not going to be able to go back to live giffing, much less doing the fancy gifs for like 30 hours a week like I used to :(

Would have been cool to be a bigger part of wrestling, like Maffew or something. Instead I'll just sit here sad and crippled calling Roman Reigns fat from the sidelines :argh:

Last post on this I promise, but it's not carpal tunnel. I've been to a RA specialist a few times as well as my GP, and neither can figure out what's going on. The only thing that makes them stop hurting is simply not using them for anything. Thank God for Netflix the WWE Network.
