Tried playing a bit of Swain when Malzahar was banned. Seems alright I think people were too quick to drop him. You can still Zhonyas and heal for a ton. If u land e > q lvl2 u can kill most people with ignite. He does so much dmg even early. Once you get catalyst u can shove with r+q. Not great waveclear if ur getting sieged though. Is like a weaker version of Vlad but he is very good in lane vs Vlad because he never does enough dmg to kill u. If they don't have a poo poo ton of burst he is a monster in teamfights. Wouldn't want to play him vs Syndra or LB though until u get mr that lane is hell.

janna isn't a meatbag but she fits the same role, since she locks targets down, doesn't die, and also prevents allies from dying. she's the best choice in every situation where taric isn't the best choice, ie any game where the enemy team has more than one source of magic damage (or situations in champ select where you're picking too early to tell whether or not their team will have a large amount of magic damage. it's best not to tip the taric hand too early) in theory taric is still nice against teams with heavy magic damage- his stun is still a stun, and his shields and heals are still shields and heals- but in practice it's a huge pain in the rear end to carry properly since you're too fragile to get in close to burn passive stacks after using skills, which means you end up being very reliant on landing absolutely perfectly timed ults in teamfights, which is pretty fricking hard to do if people only picked taric in situations where it's 100% appropriate to do so, his win rate would be no joke 90%

I played a couple games of Big Poppy in the last day and now that I know that you can only knock poo poo towards it's own fountain I'm pretty sad. I thought you could aim it.

Swain is in a pretty good spot right now, actually; especially in the face of people who don't have a clue how to deal with him. His changes definitely helped him out. He isn't played like a traditional AP carry but who cares? You're the bird man. Caw, caw, caw your way to victory.
