I am probably a three or so but it's a lot easier picking up prettier girls since losing 65 pounds. I can usually talk my way to a girl's table unless they completely blow my opener (definitely not a pua just don't know what to call a line if it's never the same) out of the zip code. Maybe it helps that I was skinny in high school and college and didn't get fat until my meds changed around 28or so. But I never forgot how to talk to both strange men (hello cigar lounge) and women (just about anywhere else). I go to bars or places where there are women who aren't already attached (I seem to attract married ladies for some reason and no, not for me) and have no trouble getting numbers. It's almost like being nice without looking for pussy-access codes attracts people. I have made a bunch of good friends of both genders simply by being nice AND pleasant to be around. I'm still about 50lbs overweight and have a beard, but well-dressed and groomed automatically bumps up the first impression. Even if you get rebuffed on the overture you can still kill an hour with a group of nurses all of whom are decent people and may make good friends if they don't demand you leave immediately. Just be confident: outside of NY city people waiting in lines or on the bus most folk don't mind a little small talk from a decent smelling member of the human race. Sorry if it's a rambling run here but I have to go to the hospital next week to ween off my old meds and try to find another combo to work for a couple of years. At least I'll lose weight eating institutional foods

Just be really, really funny. Slightly douchy helps too. Most of the time its just "lovable rascal" that they find attractive. It's knowing they'll never be bored doing the most mundane tasks with you. Best way to look at it: try and fail, at least you tried; not try, already fail. There are ALOT of variables that come into play, and I can see why some people don't bother. That and social media has turned most people into socially awkward fucks when real life happens.
