Hygiene isn't really wasting water though, and since many Muslim countries use squat toilets that don't flush, toilet paper is very prohibitive.

Also toilet paper is all gross and unhygienic, you're just scraping the poop off. It's great, because both sides are all "they do what? gross!"

Wow, so much to unpack. I love MRA screeds because they inevitably reveal a lot of things the writer has no idea he's revealing. quote:I look back to my own childhood. In 1985, I was 16 years old, and I was a nerd’s nerd. [...] But none of my nerdiness relieved me of the responsibility of learning how to be a man — a protector, builder, and fixer. So that meant spending my Saturdays hauling out the ramps to change the oil and oil filters on all our cars quote:the grip strength of a sample of college men had declined significantly between 1985 and 2016. Indeed, the grip strength of the sample of college men had declined so much — from 117 pounds of force to 98 — that it now matched that of older Snake Person women. In other words, the average college male had no more hand strength than a 30-year-old mom. Then more concern trolling about physical health and childhood obesity/laziness but it's all under the guise of might makes right, strength is the most important thing, even in the modern world physical labor is best labor. quote:Though this sounds simplistic, never ever underestimate the positive effect that raw physical strength can have on a young man’s development. I’ve seen the impact that weight training has had on my son, and I wish I’d been as diligent when I was his age. I’ve experienced the impact — even as an older adult — of the physical transformation of Army training. quote:That’s not to say that they don’t still carve out their own, distinctively male spaces — boys and girls are different, after all. But spend time with teen boys today and you’ll find that their common experience revolves more around Call of Duty than around work or even sports. As kids get older (and even during their teenage years), the male gaming experience is supplemented with copious amounts of porn. "Their video games are pornographic!" (but gently caress SJWs who whine about titties in games, Gamergate amirite) quote:Raising a boy to be a young man used to be a natural act. [..] Now, for parents of the privileged, raising a boy to be a young man has to be an intentional act. quote:Our culture strips its young men of their created purpose and then wonders why they struggle. It wonders why men — who are built to be distinctive from women — flail in modern schools and workplaces designed from the ground-up for the feminine experience. But of course, to men like this, if a space isn't catering to them 100% then it's catering to women. If the struggle isn't physical (can't be solved with brute strength), then it isn't real because emotional and psychological struggles aren't manly and therefore he can't talk about them. Instead the MRAs go to their safe space websites and try to talk about these things and this is what comes out. Plug for http://www.wehuntedthemammoth.com/ , where David Futrelle mocks MRAs, MGTOW, and the Alt-Right mercilessly

He once even shared a video of some fly-over of a stadium fireworks show for some celebration of cops. So loving overboard. I want to ask him, do you think Duerte is watching your Facebook or something bro? You have daughters, are you gonna let Duerte gently caress them when they get married? (Duerte offered this to newlywed brides publicly). Yet my phillipino friends in the states hate the guy.

My internet is a bit crap so I can't go look for it but related to that, his spokesman said today that this concern "that places a premium on the common good" is "a liberal Western value" that the UN is imposing on us. I don't even know where to start--with the fact that a Philippine delegate contributed to the declaration of human rights? Or maybe that the alternative to "liberal Western values that place premium on the common good" is what, conservative Eastern values that place a premium on personal vendettas and murder?

I think he was saying it's the Asian nations that place a premium on common good, and it's the liberal Westerners that can afford to care about every single human life. So basically he called us collectivist Orientals. I'm used to stuff like that coming from people discussing "human wave tactics" from Anglo-American pop-historians discussing Vietnam or Korea. Not so much my own countrymen.

I got this one from a family member. Sorta started a kerfuffle on Facebook, but that's what happens when you quote a Nazi... like a real one. I hate to be a downer. But Dr. Adrian Rogers was born in 1931. He did quote this in a sermon in 1984. The quote is from a man named Gerald L. K. Smith in 1957, published in his magazine "The Cross and the Flag." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gerald_L._K._Smith Mr. Smith had an interesting range of political views over the course of his lifetime. Early on he was involved with Huey Long's "Share our Wealth" campaign, but after Long's assassination, Smith took the campaign into a direction of racial supremacy. He joined the Silver Legion of America, their 3223rd member. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Silver_Legion_of_America This publication by the American Jewish Society of America lays out some of the beliefs of the Silver Shirts: http://www.ajcarchives.org/AJC_DATA/Files/THR-SS1.PDF "It is the order of things that those wicked and malignant spirits who have incarnated in certain sections of the Hebrew race trying to bring the downfall of the Christ Peoples, should meet a fearful fate in this closing of the Cycle of Cosmic Event. That contest is on-the-make and Hitler's job it has been to do the advance work. "But Hitler is not going to finish that work. THE FINISH OF IT COMES RIGHT HERE IN AMERICA!" These guys considered themselves to be the American counterpart to Hitler's Nazi party. In 1944, Mr. Smith formed the America First Party, which after his failed election, renamed itself the Christian Nationalist Crusade. Their stated purpose was to "preserve America as a Christian nation being conscious of a highly organized campaign to substitute Jewish tradition for Christian tradition." After World War 2, he began publishing his magazine "The Cross and the Flag," which is most notable for publishing the above quote, and in 1959, claiming that the six million Jews killed in the Holocaust actually just migrated to the United States. So, long story short, this quote has an interesting history.
