calling it "consumed" is a shorthand for saying viewed/heard/read for a particular piece of content without having to specify the means by which the content is consumed "content" is itself short for tv show/movie/book/song/album/podcast/web video/etc.

after a podcast is listened to it is marked as "consumed" and then disappears from my phone for someone else to listen to.

he's right about bluetooth audio quality being awful poo poo for idiots butquote:"If there's a Bluetooth 2 that has higher bandwidth and better quality, that sounds like real music, I would use it. But we'll see. Apple is good at moving towards the future, and I like to follow that."

trilljester posted:Apple doesn't support the chosen format of uncompressed audio, FLAC. the fault isn't just Apple being a special snowflake, Bluetooth devices are just generally poo poo at negotiating which audio format to use. my old car used to default to the lowest bitrate possible when it connected to my phone for A2DP and would stay there until you trigger the Bluetooth speakerphone mode after which it would resume playing at much better quality. who knows why. if Apple does go with high bitrate headphones it is gonna be funny when a bunch of Apple users are all crammed into a close space. Bluetooth gets really lovely when the 2.4GHz band gets congested.

deep in my heart of hearts i hope that the actual iphone 7 announcement will show off a phone that does include a headphone jack and tim will use the announcement to demonstrate that they have committed to combating leaks and will use the recent spate of them as a way to root out leakers the phone will still be too big with a very bad os but some dreams are just too big
