That makes sense. It wouldn't even surprise me if they just re-recorded a bunch of reactions and stuff though because these clip shows are always insanely scripted. I hope this means they have a twist or bonus comp at the end of the season instead of doing two clip shows this year.

Are we sure they edited him out? He wasn't seated at the pie table and there wasn't a spot for him, and unless he was perpetually 20ft away from the HGs, he isn't in any of the wide shots either. I figured they punished him by not allowing him to participate in the carnival. My first reaction was that they edited him out, but he's not in any wide shots and BB has routinely slipped up on that kind of thing before. Maybe he was pouting in a corner, which is totally plausible.

Not only did they edit him out (pretty sure you see his arm in the bottom right of the beer bottle cheers at the start) but from what I heard on the feeds Paulie actually won the sPectactular. So they not only edited him out but they had Jessie film a Victor win announcement and Victor do a win DR. Presumably while Paulie was there.

That episode sure did capture the essence of the Zaulie showmance.

Was Paulie disqualified by being sent home/being a baby about his punishments and stuff? Did they give a second one to Victor and make everyone agree to pretend Paulie won nothing? Are they actually not gonna give two prize sets away, so Paulie gets a prize but everyone is forced to pretend that Paulie wasn't there? Why did they bother pretending this happened last night? Is it really beyond the ability of America to watch a single episode released later about an earlier date? I have so many questions about this clusterfuck of a pointlessly more difficult editing decision. :psyduck:

I do agree about the showmance though and I'm glad they showed Paulie being kind of a dick and making Zakiyah feel bad about herself, even though it's not "HAH yeah we banged with no condoms, no big" levels of douchey.

All I knows is that Paulie was saying he won all those prizes and other HGs were pissed off at him because he wasn't grateful for it and was complaining it wasn't a game power. BB was shutting down conversation about it probably to avoid us knowing that they lied about the results like they did.

My guess is Paulie won the thing but they just made them all pretend Victor did because they knew there was a 50/50 chance Paulie wouldn't be there and they'd pretend he wasn't at the Carnival. It sounds super awkward but its a TV show and they stage poo poo like that all the time, including most of the DRs. All those clip leadins where a HG says "remember the time X happened?" were some of the worst acting this side of pornography.

I think the whole thing is silly and don't care. I'm mostly amused by the idea of trying to remove Paulie from the season.

It captured the whole showmance, really. That it was primarily physical and lustful. That Z was really insecure and kind of crazy jealous. That Paulie was really emotionally abusive and kept her at arm's length. All it really left out was Paulie boasting about unprotected sex and keeping count.

I love the idea that they really tried to pass off, "My favorite showmance was Nicole and Corey" as something James would say.

Slick recreation of History there I gotta say.
I was looking for anything where Paulie would be there including reflections from the camera run windows in the background.
Since Corey and Paulie were OTB, some cameramen were prolly given strict orders to frame people with neither of them in direct view.
A few could slip through but I noticed Corey was pretty absent from a lot of group shots as well.
Hell, they may have even had them toast their beers and say their "remember when" lines in two separate takes to cover all the bases.
It's prolly good they were drinky and too loose to give a gently caress about it.
Feeds were down for a good 4-6 hours and that's a big reason why.

STAC Goat

Yeah, I imagine they made them basically film 3 versions. 1 with the whole group in case Paulie/Corey had the RT (they would have known they didn't but they might have done it to keep up the front), 1 with Corey that included the Nicole/Corey stuff, and one with Paulie that probably had him talking about Zakiyah and others instead of the HGs talking about him.

It explains why BB was really on them to not talk about it on the feeds way more than they usually are. Because it was probably really, really, really staged in that way and they didn't want that being talked about.

BB's odd in the way they try and hide that they're a production. Especially since it sounds like they're advertising this Fall season as being fully live and showing all that stuff.

I'm guessing the fall season won't have fluff pieces like that for the most part, and it seems like they are to some degree abandoning the 3 eps per week structure, so there might be no need to fudge timelines at all. It sounds like they are pushing the live aspect so that they can get around having to structure episodes around a schedule at all, which can save them money on editing as well.

Nope. She has done nothing and actively uses that as a defense in arguments sometimes. She has been content to just lay around with Corey all summer. One of the big things downplayed if not outright removed from the edit was how she was hit with the information that Corey and the guys had plans to evict her. She was told this by the guys themselves apparently, and her reaction was to shrug it off. Paul was highly sketched out by her not giving a poo poo and refused to believe she didn't have some secret deal, but as this game progresses, she might really not have any plan other than Corey taking her to final two.

Actually on the feeds Paul and Victor did plan to cut James and Nat sooner than later. Their ideal final 3 was Michelle, but they never told her that for reasons. I think they wanted Corey before James though, but James and Nat were definitely on their list.

I don't get the scene at the beginning of the episode where Paul and Paulie came out of London and Paulie made his "Get Victor and then James" out pitch to Nicole and Corey. Paul just stood there the whole time, we got nothing from him and no DR to give that any kind of context. Why did they show it like that? There was no setup or explanation for it. Obviously he's playing a lot of angles, but it seemed to come out of nowhere and not get addressed in any way.

It seemed like it was the only thing they had to serve the "Nat finds out Paul is targeting James" narrative. Paul was legitimately planning on cutting them soon, with Victor, to take Michelle to the end, but Nicole didn't know that. For whatever reason, they are running with the narrative that Nat solely targeted them because of Nicole ratting out Paulie and Paul, which is bullshit. Nat had other reasons to be sketched out by Paul that had nothing to do with her suddenly deciding she was going to take info from Nicole about stuff Paul did when Paulie was in the room and talking his nonsense at face value. Paulie had been saying dumb poo poo all week and they humored him and then went back to each other and updated each other.

I've chose to just ignore Nat's DRs where they concern Paul because they don't make sense and don't even line up with what has happened on the feeds, and it seems like the DR is desperate trying to make Nicole relevant in this game because they are being biased as gently caress this season.

Yeah, that's the basic roadblock that they've both acknowledged and what keeps them from diving headfirst in. Honestly, it's the most mature and reasonable showmance approach I've seen. But maybe that's just in comparison to the other two ridiculous showmances.

Fast Luck posted:

It's kind of a weird thing because
a) you're right, Vic and Paul wanted Nicole and Corey got this week.
B) they wanted Nat, James, or Meech to do it so they could win HOH next week and possibly take a shot at James.

So, no, Paul and Vic weren't quite ready to turn on Nat and James but it was in the works. If Nat and James hadn't struck first they could easily have regretted it next week.

Totally unconfirmed but the current rumor is that Les Moonves has a huge gambling debt to the Calafiore clan which goes a long way to explain the positive edit. A few kickstarters have been started to help pay off the debt so that CBS can finally show the real monster that is Paulie Calafiore. Might be worth a shot to throw a couple of bucks at it.

STAC Goat

Conspiracy theories don't really get broken up by reality.

There's a lot of BB fans who appear legitimately insane. The whole paranoia and deceit aspect of the show seems like it draws in the sort of mentally ill people who buy into conspiracy theories and elaborate ridiculous ideas. So if you follow the BB Community enough you see all these piles upon piles of conspiracy theories. I would be very interested to see how BB Fans intersect with sovereign citizens or truthers or whatever else.

This season has been intense about it thanks to the vets/newbs/sibling mix, since the fundamental of all these theories rests with "So-and-so is a production favorite and will have the game rigged for them." Since Nicole and James know each other outside the house and Paulie is connected to them through Cody and Derrick the BB fans have worked up all kinds of elaborate theories about pre-show alliances and the show rigging things. It doesn't really matter that these three have never really been on the same page gamewise and haven't played the game like people secret allied, because any time one of them says something like "my mom loved you" or "I met your family" or "Derrick told me that too" it becomes more definitive proof that the entire thing was rigged all along! James was the deciding factor in betraying Paulie and starting his downfall? Well that's ok because now he's working with Nicole so conspiracies back on track!

At some point I saw a theory about how BB wanted Paulie and Nicole in the F2 as a referendum on BB16 and Derrick being the greatest, and that the two are so close their families are currently vacationing together. There's this photo of Paulie, Cody, and the casting director which means Paulie is in an affair with her. At different times it was a guarantee that Tiffany, Frank, Day, and Paulie would all have the Round Trip or win Battle Back or get help from the DR to save them because they were all being protected by BB until they were gone. And then there's the whole "Nicole is a member of the Klan and trying to get out all the minorities" theory that is so popular in some places its just outright stated at this point.

The poo poo's just crazy.

Man, it's good to be able to come here and get some sane BB discussion.

The posters at Sucks have gone completely out of their minds over Natalie and MIchelle's "betrayal" of Vic and Paul. And these are the same people who constantly deride and mock BB players for claiming it's "too soon" to make a big move.

And for some reason a lot of people seem to think the player ratings at Joker's are significant and actually have something to do with the game, so they're really obsessing over the changes there.

BB is flawed enough as it is without becoming dependent on popularity ratings among rabid fans. We don't need another Season 1.

Keep up the good work, you guys!
