So rich, the media suddenly handwringing about bad manners. Where the gently caress were since the first day of Trump's campaign? Now because Hillary said something provocative it's completely unacceptable?

I like a lot of FNM's stuff, but I also like RHCP. The story about members of the Peppers sexually assaulting somebody does more to make me not like them than anything Greg Gutfeld or Mike Patton says about them.

I like them both but it doesn't matter. I have lovely taste in certain ways. Music is a weird thing, and the more I think of it, the more meaningless musical arguments kinda match how many political arguments are had these days. When I was a teen, we'd talk endlessly about the dumb drama of things like this. I think it's just this weird human need to be connected to something important (which, when you're 15 is obviously your favorite musicians, since there is no other job that could possibly rule that much). You hit your 20's and the world expects you to be "serious" or maybe it's just a thing you put on yourself, and the lazy way to do that is to change the subject but not the flow of discussion. Maybe you branch to sports. Maybe you branch to politics. Maybe you branch to RAHOWA or whatever. As usual, I kinda rambled here, but I think my point is that some people learn how to frame and discuss things at the Magical Age when everything is perfect (usually 14-16 or so), and just don't grow out of dumb schoolyard arguments, to the detriment of everyone else who shares an equal vote with them. (This could also branch into the whole "good old days"/why-is-life-not-Leave-it-to-Beaver argument, since that's obviously rooted in the same sort of stuck-in-a-time-period thinking).

I made a point to record Rachel last night so I could check it out after work, see what kind of attention the Alt Right was getting after Hillary's speech. I have to hand it to Rachel. She started from way back as usual and got up to Kellyann Conway and Steve Bannon both being brought on to replace Manafort in the Trump campaign. She laid out how this one donor basically paid for the Cruz superPAC Kellyann worked for before switching to Trump. The same guy is also a big shareholder of Breitbart.com. So this is how you see both Conway and Bannon working on Trump's campaign now. She also did a good job of explaining what the Alt Right is, how it relates to Breitbart, and showing lots of Alt Right style headlines. It was a good package of info. Also her guest was a guy who's been following these "Race Realists" etc. for many years and ended his interview by interrupting Rachel as she was trying to throw to commercial. She used the term Alt Right and he interjected that we shouldn't allow them to name themelves, because they're white wupremacists, full-stop. It was good. I'm really glad the Clinton campaign addressed them head-on they way they did. I'm not the least bit surprised that they'll try to spin this as great exposure, but I doubt that will be how it turns out for them. Many people will deny reality but the sheer weight of evidence (e.g. David Duke saying we've taken over), the people behind them running Trump's campaign, and Trump's extreme toxicity with women and minorities is something that the GOP is going to have to address. At this point with Trump committing the mortal sin of being squishy on "amnesty" and his poll numbers I could see Hillary winning by a lot more than I ever imagined before this week. Also, high-fives to the Fishbone fans. E: Don't let work distract ya from just posting. Dr. Faustus fucked around with this message at 21:16 on Aug 26, 2016 |

What the hell is it with alt-right nerds and anime? I don't watch anime so is there something in there that appeals to fascists? Looking in the alt-right twitter world, like with the people harassing Leslie Jones, there are legions of anime avatars screaming about SJWs and blah blah. Are we facing a jackbooted fascist movement marching under the banner of a cutesy little nazi anime girl?

The gajin insult is well known, but beyond that, they're pretty quiet about the homophobia and sexism (at least what I see here). The homophobia is starting to die off (literally), and the sexism possibly? Grain of salt and whatnot.

They definitely have rampant homophobia but it doesn't set off most of the homophobia alarm bells for Westerners - why, just look at all the LGBT folks they have on TV, after all! The sexism is blatant though, and not going anywhere - I'm not sure how anyone could come to any other conclusion.

The twist is that, this time, the TV personality in question is a woman, thus the shambles because if Becky was a dude no one would give a solitary gently caress. poo poo, Hitoshi Matsumoto is famously promiscuous - that's part of his gimmick (or was, until he got a woman pregnant - a woman formerly also in show business and I'll leave it to you to figure out why she isn't anymore).
