I'm flying to Spain tomorrw and was planning on taking my SNES. Has anyone had problems with putting games in their luggage. Stuff getting stolen?

I guess the difference between here and Japan is that in Japan they price down a lot of the huge popular stuff because it's so common. So you'll find copies of SFC SMB3 for like three bucks and you'll never really pay more than a few dollars for any DragonQuest game. I'll also tell you what I tell everyone going to Japan: spend all your time and money seeing concerts. Kōenji, Shimokitazawa and Ikebukuro have good live houses/clubs, I'd tell you to go to K-cho but that really depends on whether or not the people you're travelling with are made uncomfortable by it (it's a red light district, but it also has a lot of the best venues). Just avoid Roppongi; it's a garbage city full of garbage people.

I was walking in that area on a Sunday morning, about 9am and even though the street was practically deserted three guys approached me to sell me porn DVD's. Regarding the music thing I don't really know anything about Japanese music, the guy I'm going with likes Japanese pop music and we're going to see Perfume live while we're there. That kind of music doesn't do much for me but I understand they have a good light show and it's worth the experience

It was an amazingly good time. I liked all of Tokyo, although it sometimes smelled bad. My worst experience wasn't Rappongi, but actually Shinjuku where I was staying. Walking the streets at night, I had Japanese women and African men both CONSTANTLY trying to get me to come down some dark alley or go to some titty bar or something, it got extremely obnoxious. Someone asked about old game boxes a while back in the thread; here's mine that survived from the 90's (other than UN Squadron which I found boxed on Amazon a few years ago):  Also, these boxes scuff up very easily. A lot of the wear on them comes from being stored in a shoebox and moved around for 10+ years, so I picked up some protective cases for them, which also lets them sit on a shelf easier. Only console box I still have is the one that came with the AV Famicom I got from Buyee/Yahoo Auctions. This is a retro PC question, but I dug up from the closet my original PC I got back in 2006 after I got my first job. It had Vista :banghead: on it so I used the usb flash drive to put the Window 98 SE OS on it. After a few annoying issues I got it installed, but I can't put any files on Window 98 now. USB stick isn't supported as it a 2.0, cd-drive is dead and it uses PATA so I don't have a spare, and the ethernet cable needs a file from the Window 98 cd to work...which doesn't work since I can't use the cd I have on it. Shame, since everyone says 98 is the best for retro pc games, but I can't do anything with it, so I wonder if I should just put XP back on it instead.
