Even if it does transition to a detonation, the survivor is standing near the ignition source and all the fuel in the area will be consumed during the deflagration stage and the blast wave would be moving away from them in all directions.

Perfection. Those neighboring houses are hosed. In the Indianapolis explosion a couple years back, most of the surrounding houses had to be condemned because the explosion blew them off their foundations and damaged the framework. They looked perfectly fine, but were uninhabitable and had to be torn down.

Look at how close the other houses were though. And yeah, our new builds are loving terrible, so I give you that. I guess what I am shocked at is the spread of the explosion. edit: You got an entire family or more living in each one of these: spud fucked around with this message at 18:16 on Aug 28, 2016 |

It's an explosion. There's not going to be much left regardless of how sturdy the house was.

zedprime posted:Wouldn't running your two hand controls through the average PLC on hand not pass muster in an FMEA? Also by the time you look at self prescribing through an FMEA, might as well buy the two hand controls off the shelf and whether it is better or not, you send the agency inspector or the insurance underwriter after the manufacturer if something goes wrong and its tracked back to the two hand controls. You don't necessarily have to run it through the PLC. You can wire the buttons in directly, while also letting a signal from the PLC shut things down at any time.
