Like I understand Groudon and Kyogre and Rayquaza helped shape the Earth and Reshiram and Zekrom something something spirituality and yin and yang, but despite catching Yveltal I still don't know what's his deal other than some sort of evil phoenix analogue what with absorbing all life in an area in order to be reborn.
