By a 1920s car though? Probably more like a month. You didn't have highways or interstates back then, and vehicles were still uncommon, so you'd have to stick to the major major routes so you can get gas.
Honestly, I don't think anyone traveled that far by car. You could just take a train.

Going by the 1916 Lincoln Highway Official Road Guide, it estimated a time of between 20-30 days. The highway would have been improved by 1922, but it still would be fairly rough going for most of the trip.

I agree about Rex. It was nice to see him just be genuinely concerned and helpful to someone, and not in some outlandish way. "I can't really fix it, but I can check out what I can until you see your specialist." I just felt good reading it today, no joke.
I'm still having trouble adjusting to the concept of Rex providing actual medical care and advice; I keep focusing on the "very well-stocked freezer" line and remembering the bit a few months back where senile old Milton showed that guy the huge bundles of cash hidden in it. Even when Rex Morgan, MD is genuinely trying to be about a doctor, I can't help but read it as a comic strip about how awesome it is when rich people get their hands on even more money. :(

Gene Wilder passed away today at the age of 83 (he had Alzheimer's but kept it private), so get ready for the trite tribute strips from Working Daze and Gilchrist.

Sorry to break it this way, but better me than from one of those strips.

That you probably were not aware of any of this until some guy on a comedy website's message board told you is, I hope, the surest possible evidence that nearly everyone writing about Korean issues in English today is a lovely hack. I mean, sheesh, I'm a film critic, not a journalist, but even in that limited field the effect this has had locally is so huge you practically have to stick your fingers in your ears to not be aware of it. Either that or get blackout drunk every night instead of doing actual research.

edit: Oh, one more thing. They've only just now gotten around to actually salvaging the ship and getting close to recovering the bodies. This is probably why Saenuri thought they could kill the committee prematurely. That they seriously thought that after all this time and gently caress-ups this would satisfy the issue well...again, they're just horribly tone-deaf is the main problem here.

WOW! Thanks for that context. I remember when the accident happened that it was terribly sad, made worse by the fact that (as it was reported here, not sure if it's accurate) the kids could have easily gotten off the ship early but they were told to sit below decks and not do anything, which they did until it was too late and the ship capsized. Interesting that it's not just american conservatives who are against safety regulations, etc..

Yeah, going off the teaser art Ces shared before starting his run, it might be Judge Randy Parker's wife April (the covert government operative who went missing recently) that's going to die. April's pregnant, but also a very, very minor character. (I mean, think how minor you have to be to have less time on-panel than Judge Randy Parker, for god's sake. Poor guy barely even showed up in his own wedding.)

But hey, maybe they'll both die? I'm all for clearing the decks if it gives him room to make this strip more law-focused and less "yay! the Spencer-Drivers got richer! again!"
