Oh nice, the new patch massively increases alchemy recipe drop rates. While escorting Triss through the sewers I found 7 superior recipes I was missing.

Lasher posted:I played Witcher 3 a bit but had to sell it. Just picked up the GOTY edition so what should I know about the DLC and everything? Just play the game as normal and get the DLC naturally when it appears? Long thread, so I apologise if this has been covered. Expansions are both meant to go after the main game, there are a few references to hearts of stone to the main game if you cram it in first, though finishing it would mean you are massively overleveled for the ending content. That's more of a cool thing to do on a second play though type deal.

Digirat posted:What's different about it? I was thinking of doing NG+ Mostly items aren't scaled properly, so you'll regularly pick up equipment that unlocks at something ridiculous like 16 levels above you. Once you reach the 90s this means you pick up equipment that you can never use. It's a pointless annoyance. Especially since using Aerondight is always the correct option and incentivizes you to never get hit, making armor level and silver sword level meaningless. Like Pellisworth said it's the same as the level problems in the main game, but worse. Oh well, pointless levels is better than a strict treadmill and the rest of the game is good. You certainly spend less time scraping together money for crafting when gear no longer matters. To be clear these are really minor problems. Using whatever armor or sword looks coolest was already the correct option in the base game and NG+ just makes that more true. I'd rather have a game that makes every build viable and fun than a game that nails the treadmill of gear progression.

How long does it take these ~level 30 Novigrad murder-guards to forget that you looted a roll of wire from a crate? Is it like GTA where if you can just get out of the area for a minute or two, everything goes back to normal, or do you have to let days go by? They seem quite committed to my doom.

It's funny I feel pretty much the same way, I'm helping Thaler out because he was my bro in every drat Witcher 1 run I did. I like Roche/Ves but I liked Iorveth too so meh on them. Thaler though? Me and that bastard are TIGHT and I've got his back in anything. Sigi is fine with me and I'd prefer a strong united north but gently caress killing my only buddy from the good ole Foltest days. Oh and Thaler and Shani dated for awhile which is still one of my favorite Witcher 1 bits. TGG fucked around with this message at 05:52 on Sep 1, 2016 |

For anyone having issues with Extreme Cosplay, I found a pretty easy solution. Make sure you have Quen and Northern Wind available, then start the quest. When poo poo starts happening, chuck a Northern Wind to freeze the spearmen, hit Quen, then hightail it up the stairs the to the stone balcony area where you found one of the NPCs. From there, stand back from the edge, out of the mage's line of sight, and switch to Devil's Puffball and Grapeshot. After that, switch bombs again, this time to Dancing Star and Dragon's Dream. Throw DS out, then DD. Wait for the effects to wear off, repeat. It's not glamourous, but it works. Also, this might have already been posted, but I skipped a ton of BaW chat because I wasn't there yet. I'm going through BaW now, and holy poo poo, it seems like the content just keeps on coming. Message boards everywhere!

I remember one thing they were planning is that people speak multiple languages so you can buy a universal translator to help you out. It would be really cool but probably super demanding if they just let you build a character that was just fluent in multiple languages and because of that they don't translate what's said to spoken English, just subtitles, while the translator translates everyone into spoken English.

I do look forward to Cyberpunk, as the latest Deus Ex's story and scope feel compromised by Square Enix, but I do hope the game is more mechanically polished and interesting than Wild Hunt. The clunky platforming and dire horse-physics make Geralt feel like a poor man's Venom Snake, and there will be the need for first-person shooting, cover-shooting, and vehicles, all of which will be a first for CDPR. They've got the writing chops down pat, but there's definitely an opportunity for more emergent gameplay, like shooting doors open or disabling laser apertures with your stun gun like in Deus Ex.

Everyone cool in the game and in the books told Philippa to gently caress off: Yen, Ciri and in the game Geralt saved her and in Witcher 3 kicked her rear end. Shes manipulative and her so callled lodge of sorceress is in the process of being killed by Mad King Radovid, hiding or in the North. The game should have let us to also tell her to gently caress off. She is a bad person and her sreentime should have been used in good things like Yen and Ciri relationship. /rant
