2 games in so far and I've seen 3 people melt down due to overheating early game. This promises to be a magical weekend. Edit: What's LRM like in 3rd person? Well, they're giving away free paint and decals. I'm not going to complain. Especially because most of the ones I actually want are relatively easy. Edit: It's a really nice shade of brown. Not only is impossible to effectively aim anything else - even SRMs or LBXs - in third person, but if you move too close to a wall and the camera glitches into 1PV for a half-second, it apparently causes the challenge to bug out. It's possible though unconfirmed that simply starting in a dropship fails the challenge, too. A LRM can at least sit in the back and hope to get a random killing blow while the rest of the team wins the match, but it's still completely not worth it for some premium time. Especially since it doesn't affect the other challenges.

The sad thing is that 3PV is ALMOST usable with a mid-range build with (almost) all torso-mounted weapons, except that the aim point jitters all over the drat place.

Maybe one of you has run into this. I have a brand new PC which should ostensibly tear this game in half, even for a Crytek game. Except it takes forever to load into a match and then when I do, whenever I turn my cockpit textures pop in like crazy and my framerate tanks. I suspect it's the drive and I just need to hurry up and RMA it but I thought I'd ask in case it was a known issue.

Runs some diagnostics & memtest and be prepared to replace some parts. If that doesn't work throw away your computer and become an agrarian luddite or something.

I'm struggling to think of a good thing to say about this event. I've never worked so hard for 11 MC in my life. Apparently if you NARC someone and then kill them yourself, it doesn't count. I'm sure TAG is going to be equally bugged. It's hard enough to get the NARC on an enemy as it is. It's loving impossible to get 11 other pubbies to kill the fucks. 8 of 11 down. All have been in goon groups. grumble grumble grumble

Skip them if the reward is crappy OR if the challenge is too painful. For me, that means skipping the 3rd person challenge, the 10-hour challenge, all the equipment challenges except for the UAV Detection one, and the Defensive Kill challenge which only awards CBills anyway. Also,  PSA: Because of the bugs, the 3rd person challenge has been set to trigger after only one match credited.

The UAV detection one is a good one to do because they constantly throw you free UAV's, and seemingly if you pop the UAV and it detects a mech with ECM on it, it also counts towards the countering ECM challenge, so its two birds one stone. Use the other renderer whichever one you ahve set.

It seems to be some bizarre post-install first load issue, I'm not even sure what to call it besides that. First time on every map the game runs like complete garbage and loads into the map even slower, but every time after that it's completely fine.

It's best to cheese this one, too. At match start, engage Override and overheat yourself up to 100.00000001% (you'll hear bitchin' Betty notifying you). On Frozen City I managed to trigger it without even taking any damage at all.

As someone also swimming in MC from founding and quitting, I went ahead and bought the Locust pack. 2543 MC and it comes with 30 days Premium time, so really 43 MC for 3 Locusts and 3 Mech Bays.
