In Training posted:I missed some of the map stuff because I think I messed up some timed sidequests as I can't read or understand any Japanese but I still managed something like 95+%. I'll definitely buy it on PS4 if it gets localized I'd missed a couple of the Etania quests but was able to collect them on my clear save and got to 100. The item you get is pretty good but by then I was able to simulate its effects pretty much using food and button mashing so I didn't end up using it for the brief time I had it.

Do you know what Clannad is? I don't, but apparently the Japanese developers have stealthily announced in their TGS 2016 lineup that the game's Vita version is getting an English release.

I tried playing Clannad years ago, but didn't get very far as the fan translation was pretty incoherent, and the art is hideous. I mean, holy poo poo, just look at it. Did they at least redo the art for the ports?

Believe it or not it's actually an improvement over previous efforts by that artist. Thankfully Key hasn't gone back to that look since to my knowledge. The anime's designs are waaaaay better at any rate, KyoAni did a bang up job with that adaption.

I dunno, I hear more about the 64 cards failing than any other (16, 32, whatever). But I imagine they are also the more popular model so the more out there, the more chances for them loving up? Someone tell Gamexplain they could do a 50 minute video of Vita memory card statistics so we figure out which ones are actually more popular.

You have a similar-to-the-dance event in Part 2 which defines your romance. (And at least for several lady characters it's explicitly a romance this time, not just 'good friends.' I didn't check out too many unfortunately because you need a high Link ranking and to complete certain events to even get the option) The game is REALLY good about telling you this though. It flat-out says "you need to do this to see the final bonding event" when it's a thing and Beryl will tell you every character who has met the requirements.

So when I do transfer save for Cold Steel 2, it's just some items you can keep right? I don't think I hit 80, maybe got to 79? I have a end save for both my easy run and hard run. Should I just pick the higher levelled one if the dance doesn't matter? Cause I was gonna go based on dance partner, but if that doesn't really matter I'll do level based then.

You're just given some bonus items based off your level and AP ranking. The items themselves are kinda poo poo anyway. (One of them you literally can buy in an early town for example.) I'd pick whichever one has the dance partner you want, that's basically the only relevant thing.

I think I have some sort of Stockholm Syndrome toward it at this point because I much much much prefer it to the newer generic-as-gently caress anime art.

Have been meaning to play a "Tales of" game for awhile now and have a few in the backlog. However, I decided to try out Tales of Heart R over the weekend, and I am really enjoying it. I am only a few hours in, but it seems simple enough that it is lighthearted and enjoyable, not too complicated or intense. I started playing on my Vita since it has my 64GB card in it, but then when I got back home today I immediately deleted enough games off the 8GB card in my PStv to make room for it.
