If I can't log in, no biggie I guess it just means another week goes by that I can't gain EXP and become more and more irrelevant to higher gym tiers

Holy poo poo, whichever chicagoon recommended going to navy pier, thank you. It was poo poo for farming items, because I caught so many pokemon, I needed two storage upgrades. I got 35k xp in four hours and eleven and a half miles.

Yep, went there last week. That was better for items because the pokestops were in a five minute loop. Caught my first dratini there and enough Psyducks to finally evolve.

Your provider will probably have an international/roaming satellite plan that's still expensive but much more reasonably priced

I was stuck on the phone handling a call for work. Saw this pop up in my neighborhood on a scanner. Wife graciously took a quick drive and caught it for both of us.    Fresh catch, no powering up yet. Although IVs aren't the greatest (80%), it's good enough to invest in I think. Saves me 125 candies evolving one, plus this way I'm guaranteed Bubble. I'll give it a real name once it's powered up. Kinda wish it had Submission or Ice Punch though. Edit: I wrote stuff that's wrong. If you don't mass evolve, I feel like it should be safe. I evolve, click through the affirmations, wait 5 seconds, then evolve again.

Anyone know what's up with the "error" you sometimes get when battling / training at gyms? It keeps happening to me and it's getting infuriating. I'm training a gym up, then all of the sudden I'm kicked out with "ERROR", then I can't train there for a good while, even if I restart my game.

Well, I wound up cutting my NYC Pokémon Go day down to just a couple of parks due to time. If I had to do it again, I'd just have sat by a lured corner of Central Park all day. Once I got there, a Gyarados popped up on my sightings. I showed my phone to my sister in law that was with me, and suddenly people started bolting from the little plaza in the corner into the park. So we followed. Ran into it not far away and everybody started catching theirs. Probably 100+ people converged into a little area by the lake. Also so stocked up on Pokeballs and hatched a ton of eggs. I'm going to be so disappointed when I get back to my dozen Pokestop town (there's one spot where there would be 2 in range, 3 if you were in the middle of the road).

GPS drift caused you to wander out of range of the gym while you were fighting the previous battle and the game gets really pissed off about that for some reason. To prevent it try getting closer to the gym when you fight it. Once it happens solutions include: Logging out and logging back in and retrying Logging out, force quitting the app, then logging back in and retrying Toggle AR mode Log out, force quit, log in, toggle AR mode and pick a sacrificial ultra-low cp mon to fight and lose with (this works best for me)

Cue the police being called by the residents of the area because the streets were suddenly blocked and people were abandoning their cars to run on foot. I'm really glad I live in a smaller city and don't have to worry about the ~PoGo Madness!~ People outright driving on side walks sounds like some real bullshit. The worst we ever had was about 4 days after release suddenly a bunch of fat guys spread out around town were walking around everywhere with fanny packs. Which I assume had huge batteries inside. And you'd kinda just see them randomly walking out of hidden places between buildings you didn't even know existed. The fever for sure died after the first week though.
