No thanks. I'm all set. So for all you out there who are actually into the idea, is your life so lovely that scavenging for food and running from zombies is an actual improvement of your current situation? What's the deal?

Whenever I hear people planning for the zombie apocalypse, I always assume they are playing pretend like they are seven years old. Is this correct, or do people actually take it seriously?

Better to yearn for a Mongol invasion, imo.

I have a friend who lives in the rural areas out here in the mountains, dude has a cellar full of supplies because rain and snow have kept him and his family stranded for days on end. He has a few diesel generators that can run the house along with solar panels and batteries. He seems to have to deal with a poo poo ton of "Zombie Preppers" and anti gov types just to get his poo poo serviced and his hatred for them is hilarious. He says the guys who came to install a new propane tank and line for him kept trying to sell him guns, and wouldn't drop it when he told them "I have a semi auto .22 rifle, thats enough" and then they kept bringing up zombies and telling him he needed atleast a .308 or some poo poo. Arizona, man

Do these people not understand that zombies are fictional in a totally made up, no way possible sense?

I think they use them as a stand in for minorities they're afraid of, like out here, we're within 10 miles of Mexico, so they mean latinos. In the South and Midwest, I'm sure they use zombie instead of just saying "Black people"

But next time you see a Zombie prepper online talking about the apocalypse, just replace the word zombie with a racial slur and see how well it fits Preparing for a zombie apocalypse sounds much more whimsical than "Race War"

People who "yearn" for a zombie apocalypse subconsciously recognize that they are drowning in a sea of meaningless commercialism. They are suffocated beneath a mountain of pointless minutiae and their souls have atrophied to the point of near non existence by a lifetime of selfish pleasure-seeking. They wish to live in a world where their actions have real meaning and they are no longer alienated from the fruits of their labor, but are too cowardly or weak willed to reject a life of comfort on their own. The zombie apocalypse represents the external motivation they need to reject commercialism without giving them the opportunity to make the choice they know they're too weak to make.
