How that differs at all from Mega Evolution, I have no idea. well now that mega evolution is a thing, they can continue introducing alternate super-forms that are mutually exclusive but basically the same thing (stat boost, new appearance, new ability) so odds are if they have the synchro stuff it's going to be something like that, since thats basically how Ash Greninja works i mean they already did this for Kyogre and Groudon by giving them mega evolutions but calling it something else so theyve established some base rules for super forms or whatever you want to call them
