This is probably a stupid question, but I'm about to be getting my very first iPhone: I get lightning cables, those are easy, but should I be looking for something specific in third party chargers? I'm coming from Android worrying about if my charger is Qualcomm QuickCharge or USB - C rapid charger or is it some stupid loving Samsung magical quick charge. Is it just standard? What am I buying?

I bought an Anker charger and started getting phantom touches on my iPhone and iPad while they were plugged into it. Switched back to the Apple charger and the problem went away.

So upon more research it looks like if you want to take part in the iPhone Upgrade Program but are on a prepaid provider you can do it one of two ways: 1. Have someone else who is an authorized user on one of the main 4 carriers activate it under their plan and you pay for it. or 2. Open up a line on a post paid account, activate the iPhone and then cancel the line and only pay prorated amount. The issue with this is that carriers will hit your credit with a hard pull, obviously not a great plan to do it each year. I don't really know anyone who isn't under 40 and doesn't have prepaid so I may just have to buckle up and do the Barclays card.

Did they say anything about sound quality when they talked about the Air Pods? Because they look like regular Ear Pods, and if they sound like them there's no way they're worth $159 just for wireless convenience.

The $159 includes accelerometers and poo poo plus apple's super rad wireless chip and probably some other wizbang stuff I'm forgetting about. So once you subtract Apple's comical markup and the cost of cramming all that poo poo in there my assumption is the overall audio quality is unchanged. Since the iPhone 7 has two models, one with CDMA & GSM and the other just GSM, could I just buy the Verizon model that has both and just pop my AT&T sim card in it?

If I currently have a 6S+ on the iPhone Upgrade Program but I want to get a 7 (also on the Upgrade Program) and keep my old phone to give to my family, can I either pay off the full remaining balance in-store or have 2 Upgrade Program things going at the same time?

EarPods are perfectly fine for bundled accessories (they're hardly equivalent to the red and blue monstrosities shipped with the Gameboy in 1990 at least), but I'd never buy a set if mine broke.

Does the monthly pricing on the Apple Upgrade Program change if you get a phone from the previous generation, or are you always forced to get the newest model? I'm not enamored with the seven and could probably get away with using a 6s for this cycle and then the brandy new super update that is supposedly coming down the pike next year.

I highly doubt that is the case but back when I was buying my place they were all like "dont do any credit checks or get any new debt blah blah blah" Honestly though you'd want to keep things as static as you can just to make things easier. I don't usually use headphones for 5 hours to begin with so I think I'd be fine with them for the most part...that might be different if I didn't have the watch for volume/track controls though.
