I gotta agree with this, they both just barely missed the cut due to how incredible this year has been. They should both be strong contenders for the best of the HMs though. And if we had an emotional moment of the year I'd nominate Bryan breaking down in tears while calling the end of that match.

Metalik - Tozawa (CWC 8/31) is an HM, but Kendrick - Ibushi (CWC 8/31) is a MOTY, maybe the best storytelling in any match this year.

HM for both Metalik/Tozawa and Ibushi/Kendrick. The former had better wrestling, the latter told a better story, both were excellent but neither had that special something that bumps it into MOTYC territory.
