In the story getting hit by a steam boat was enough to make Cthulhu gently caress off back to the ocean, so a nuke would probably actually kill the guy. Lovecraft was dead before the nuke was made and I bet it would have scared the poo poo out him something fierce.

Not quite, the boat ramming him was enough to push him out of alignment with the stars, basically denying him his morning coffee and so causing him to say gently caress it and go back to sleep. So he's still pretty invincible but not a heavy weight.
