Since neither Josefumi nor Kira seems especially goofy, I'm hoping that that part is authentically Gappy and that we see more of it. He is a nice boy who likes Yasuho, large fries, and too-small sailor suits, and who will ask politely before brutally murdering your (now ex-)boyfriend.

i mean, it was kind of in response to some sort of odd psychoanalysis about how joshuu was apparently doing something perfectly natural given the situation, so i feel this conversation is going in circles also i have no idea if joshuu's name is supposed to have 2 u's or if that's weird translator poo poo, but out of all the names it seems the most fitting to have the extra u there. i dunno if i'm alone on that

It's normal for Joshuu to be suspicious in this situation and in-character for him to treat anyone he's suspicious of with disrespect. That he went over the line of what most people would consider "Acceptable" disrespect is also in-character, because Joshuu's whole thing is he's a terrible human doomed to snatch at fleeting glimpses of being the triumphant jerk and getting away with it, only to have the universe stomp on him almost immediately afterwards. All this is true, and yet, it's also okay for people to feel kinda uncomfortable with what transpired, and to express that discomfort, because we're supposed to be adults having a conversation here. Where things go wrong is when a conversation - any conversation - turns into a whirlpool of unpleasantness. You can disagree without being disagreeable. That goes for everyone. Please love Jojo and each other, thank you.

This isn't exactly unique to the Higashikata family (although Daiya does seem to do it particularly often?). It's more like that's how everyone in Jojo talks. Like, Stroheim doesn't say, "Nazi medical science is the best in the world! There is nothing we cannot do!", he says, "NAZI MEDICAL SCIENCE IS THE BEST IN THE WOOOORLD! THERE IS NOTHING WE CANNOT DOOOOO!" All I can really say about that is, it sounds a lot less awkward in Japanese than it does if you try to faithfully recreate it in English. In other news, four new chapters of Vento Aureo just went up. This wraps up the Notorious B.I.G./Spice Girl segment.

We don't really know much about what's going on with the family or with anyones plots. We do know Jobin was at least talking with the rock people, but we don't know anything beyond that. Also I just don't really trust Norisuke and the explanation of his stand still rubs me the wrong way for some reason.
