Monte seems like a baby who can't take criticism without making a big lengthy public response where he tries to appear like he is taking the high road when he is really being a bitch. Riot seems like a dumb company that doesn't have the ability, desire, or consistency to fix LCS employee issues behind the scenes. All these babies kind of deserve each other.

It's not just Monte, most of their E-Sports division is ran by petty babies too. Players asking for booths? No way, that's what OGN did that can't be a good idea! It takes the "Interaction away from the fans" (Despite them always having drawings fans send in in front of the monitors and large fan sections for most teams) I haven't been a huge Regi fan but more owners need to be like him and just bide their time until they can threaten to cripple Riot

Rip Summoning insight, Monte said he won't do it anymore because focusing on other regions is useless since he is blacklisted by Riot. I feel like he wants to blame Riot for everything, I know he probably lost money on the Renegades but he made lots of questionable decisions by associating himself with Badawi, consistently bashing Riot when u know their company culture isn't really accepting of that. They pretty much function as your either with us or against us it seems. Also it sucks Fabyy is not in TL anymore I liked how everyone had a different way of writing his name.

ugh, just looked up this Phreak porn star thing. It's worse than I imagined, and I have a pretty good imagination to how bad these things could be. It's substantially lower than the low for which I imagined Phreak would settle.

I'm pretty sure someone from...I want say to CLG but I don't remember (not a player or owner at any rate) made some kind of comment about "the silverback patriarch is angry" or something to that effect aimed at Regi.

Servaetes posted:Was it Thorin that compared Regi to an ape and made racist commentary about polish people and got banned from IEM My statement that Polish people need to fill the existential hole within themselves with esports is likewise a joke and a serious statement, to some degree. Firstly, I deliver it with a smile on my face and it is meant as an obvious joke to gently caress with Chanman, who is hyping the event to be something epic. Secondly, if we want to address the statement literally, I would say that everyone in the world has an existential hole in their life. Some fill it with mere simple distractions (leisure activities, hobbies, work) and some more drastic solutions (sex, drugs, religion, politics). Most of the unhappiness in the world stems from people's inability to acknowledge this part of themselves and find a satisfactory and non-destructive way to deal with it. In my case, esports and philosophy have been methods of dealing with this problem of being a human being, alive in the 21st century and outside of the natural environment human beings apparently originated from. Such context was not given to that statement at the time, because I assumed it would be readily seen as a joke. However, in line with the impossible-to-overcome-hatred-perspective-process I outlined earlier on, I can see that often those who wish to be offended would simply decide that this was a literal statement to be taken as some kind of immortal pronouncement on the Polish people, specifically and solely, by a foreigner. It's impossible, for such people, that there could be any kind of humour involved or more general philosophical context.

If someone offers you a job for less salary then you deem acceptable, you turn them down (especially if there are people that think it's good enough). Only a baby starts a crusade on social media to tell the company that they're wrong.

Counterpoint: Riot probably wouldn't have changed anything without a social media shitstorm, because that's how they do things. Basically, in the world of Riot vs Monte, everything is wrong and the only definite winner was going to be fans of internet drama. EDIT: Alternatively, both sides won since freelancers are getting paid better and Riot doesn't have to deal with Monte anymore. gently caress, I don't know anymore.

i am going to tell you that when you're dealing with people in charge of things, and you just go ahead and assume they won't help you out and immediately escalate the issue and put it in the public eye, usually they don't like it.

again, his major problem is he always thinks he's the smartest dude in the room. the renegades thing seems extra dumb because fundamentally he's just assuming badawi couldn't lie to him. like riot definitely was heavy handed but i am 100% positive that situation could have been worked out if he didn't take up a stance where he's defending a scummy dude that riot was out to get, out of sheer egotism.

If he would've just kept this to his video about Tryndamere's reddit posts then he would've looked way better coming out of it but saying he immediately went to the public with him not being paid what he deemed an acceptable rate for the amount of work he would have to put in is untrue. moush posted:If someone offers you a job for less salary then you deem acceptable, you turn them down (especially if there are people that think it's good enough). It's probably because Riot wants to let the teams practice on 6.18. I think all the previous games were on 6.15, and you can def tell not all the teams were used to standard lanes. I think it's nice that this year Riot put more thought into how worlds will play out. Unfortunately, the way playoffs played out was the casualty of this. I'm actually surprised Riot could think a month or so in advance, but I think two months should be the desired goal.

It'd be cool if they would let some non-official tournaments take place so teams in the off season could try out new players that aren't going to World's and clash against challenger teams that desperately need the experience. IEM is the only on-going tournament and it loving sucks
