You should avoid people who specifically breed them however, as that encourages dwafism's other harmful biological effects. My most recent ex had a cat that was mildly a dwarf. She was a ridiculous cat that had no trouble jumping, but looked funny running.

The sand boa is too much. Question, snake people--I always heard snakes are deaf. True or false?

Khazar-khum posted:The sand boa is too much. quote:Snakes don't posses the outer ear along with a missing eardrum which should technically make them deaf but they have the complete inner ear structure complete with the cochleas which gives them ability to sense the vibrations right from its skin to the inner ear. The mechanoreceptors or sensory nerves spaced throughout the skin of the body and connected to the spinal chord enable the snake to feel the vibrations that carry through the sand and soil. These are extremely sensitive and thus information is communicated instantly to the inner ear where these vibrations are felt as sound waves and hence a signal is decoded. Didn't know that they were deaf before. Sininu has a new favorite as of 11:39 on Sep 18, 2016 |

Okay, people have compared other animals to cartoon characters in this thread way too often, but this one actually sees something about to fall on top of him and does the panicked running in place thing as it falls.

This is a not-unusual sight when a smallish animal with non-retracting claws tries to start running fast from a dead stop on a slippery surface like linoleum or finished hardwood flooring. They don't have the weight to get enough friction, and their claws aren't sharp enough to dig into the floor, so they just slide instead and the result is a startled animal running in place until a foot pad manages to get enough of a purchase on the floor to actually go somewhere.

LOL my cat Finbarr does this all the time on the hardwood floors. We call it "revving his engines" when he does this After a good 10 seconds or so he finally manages to get purchase and takes off like a rocket...but hearing the "scrabble scrabble scrabble" of his feets going full speed just makes us laugh every time.

I recently moved back to the States for reasons and am staying with family for a bit. They have an outside cat named Thor who everyone thought was a mean rear end in a top hat but really just needed some love, pets and scritches to be a cool cat-bro. I need to get some video of it sometime but if I go outside and snap my fingers he'll come running for pets if he's within earshot. He spends most of the night doing important cat business in the woods but most of the day he's lounging on the porch. Thor is concerned about his food supply gently caress it, let's flop on the porch for some scritches Hell yeah That's the poo poo right there Just waiting for some snow to go riding Scratch them seats, who cares?
