People I need razors to shave my face with not a genuine badger fur shaving brush and sterling silver razor handle to do civil war reenactments with. If there is a better idea than dollar shave club I would like to hear about it

I don't shave every day but DSC is fine. I've been using the 4 blade razor for like 3 years and it works good OP. I still use regular shaving cream, it's better than their butter.

double edged razors are also superior because you can't really cut your wrist or give some a buck fifty with a cartridge razor.

Roylicious posted:Assuming you're a boy, buy this: https://www.amazon.com/Merkur-Long-Handled-Safety-Razor/dp/B000NL0T1G Correct. I spend $20 eveey year and a half on a pack of 100 double edged safety razors. I have enough shaving soap from last Christmas to last me 3 years. Total spent on shaving in the last 6 years: $140 and that includes the original razor and brush purchase. Stop wasting money on cartridges and dont be taken in by that trendy dollar shave club bullshit.

Have blonde facial hair so you can more or less use regular Mach 3 blades indefinitely without issue. Also switch up using shaving cream and gel throughout the week to keep your face in check.

I tried to switch to dorco razors but their QC was trash on my order and like 1/3 would cut the poo poo out of my face. It also didn't give nearly as close of a shave for me. I have really coarse, dark hair that grows quickly and look like I have a 5 o'clock shadow after shaving with gillette razors. With dorco I looked like a god drat hobo. I really wanted to switch too because they are super affordable. If every time I switched out the razor it wasn't like playing a bad game of rock paper scissors I might have stuck with them.

Found your testimonial on the OP. Straight razors are too goony, double edge razors are too steampunk, so you've definitely made the right choice here joining a club to send you cheap disposable cartridges.

The words "the razor and the blades" has become a widely used phrase meaning a product designed to rip the customer off, this should tell you something. Stop being gillette's bitch and get a goddamn safety razor.canpakes posted:If there is a better idea than dollar shave club I would like to hear about it Soak your face in gasoline and then light a match, give yourself disfiguring 3rd degree burns. The horrific melty-plastic-looking skin you will be left with after months of recovery and cosmetic surgery won't grow any hair at all, so you'll never have to spend money or time shaving ever again. Plus you can make up a story about rescuing a kid from a burning house or something, chicks will dig that. This entire process will be less painful than the idiotic dollar shave club that expects you to use crappy disposable razors for a week each, because they only send you like 4 or 5 of the things a month.

My facial hair basically does the Homer Simpson thing where I shave, and it seems like moments later I'm stubbly again. Plus it grows in at weird, uneven angles and I have to basically go over my face like three times to get it shaved without leaving patches. My brother got me a gift card for dollar shave club for Christmas one year, so I tried it. With their fanciest one (4 blades?), I found that my Gillette Fusion on a blade I had been using for a month still worked better than a brand new one of theirs. It was really uncomfortable and left a lot behind. I tried for a full month in case my face just needed to adjust, but no luck. So I cancelled that and got a pack of 12 Fusion blades to last me a year.
