this conversation has gone on relentlessly more or less since the renegades thing, with people claiming riots agenda bla bla bla bla bla BLA BLA BLA and its really loving tiresome, especially because a lot of really salient points have been made about all of these and then just immediately tossed out the window. i don't see what the purpose is at attempting a conversation about this when i've already made legitimate ones before that were just ignored because, as far as i can tell, the facts dont agree with the conclusion that was already in place. after trying some genuine discussion about some topics and having it be ignored and then having those topics come up repeatedly like yeah im gonna post pithy poo poo about it. edit: also notice that there's never any further discussion about the interesting stuff? or it's very rare. it just feels like a waste a lot of times, people just want to rail on. I don't remember much of my posting from back during Relegades drama but I'd be more than willing to read your posts and have an actual debate with you if you would actually like it (although maybe not in this thread since lots of people in here seem to care more about trying to make one liners rather than effort posting!) although I remember most of your recent posts on the topic boiling down to "monte is a giant baby who go a-bloo-bloo". still, my offer is open though, if you want to have an actual discussion about this stuff I'd be more than willing to do it here, in the league client or via discord or what have you.

yeah, i have bagged on monte a lot lately because he went from a dude that i found entertaining and insightful to a dude who i feel like has spent the better part of the year cutting off his nose to spite his face. i also thought it was sort of lovely that he brought kelsey moser on to summoning insight with apparently the explicit purpose of being smug to her, especially since she was so nice and gracious about it. but it's sort of difficult to express negative opinions about him because ignoring the obnoxious stuff he's part of the best lol broadcast, and a lot of people have decided he's "objectively correct" and his league preferences are just factual. talking about monte cristo is a losing battle because people who don't like him think he's a smug useless prick and people who do like him think he's a genius and you aren't smart enough to appreciate him. edit: monte seems very much so like someone who would rather be right than back down, but it really seems like he's totally unwilling to consider that he might not actually be right.

Monte gets carried by Doa and is a massive prick and snob. Riot has an abundance of great colour commentators so his absence won't really be felt at Worlds (for me at least). Doa will be missed, however. The vast majority of LoL play-by-play casters are utter garbage.

I think there are certainly favorites in terms of no names vs well known players, but in more popular player matchups it's a crap shoot simply because of the rng the game is built upon. Not to long ago kripp (the number one hearthstone streamer) looked at hearthstone tourney winnings specifically for one guy that he had never seen a misplay from in tourney setting and the guy wasn't even top 50 in earnings. Like, we can complain about rng and no skill heroes in league or DotA, but there can be people in competitive hearthstone who make the literal best play possible every turn and still never place in tournaments.
