Ask me about moons
Fact #1 The Moon is really cool
So from episode 12 I can determine my thought that Muse ascended to Idol Heaven/ was raptured is absolutely correct. That or Otonozika was a ghost school the whole time.

When the Rapture happens, only the school idols and those faithful to them will ascend to Heaven, and the people left behind will be forced to fight each other over whatever idol merchandise remains.

There it is, and there we go.

No sequel hook though, so maybe they'll leave the story there? I kind of doubt it on the basis of Love Live being a gigantic cash cow to them, though, so my gut tells me another season wouldn't be out of the picture.

What a lovely emotional ride.

A decent last episode, though I would have preferred something more substantial. Half the ep was recap + self-congratulations.

As you may have realized, I really really enjoyed Sunshine. It's a well-written story with fun characters and some nice themes: dare to try, don't give up, do your own thing. I still wish we'd gotten more cross-year interaction, though; to the end it clung to those groups of three. Throughout the whole show, we got... a bit of Chika & You with Kanan in the first ep, confrontations between Dia and Chika (and briefly Dia and Zuramaru), Kurosawa sisters moments... and that's it, I think. It kind of felt like three three-girl groups welded together sometimes, and often the choreography reinforced that. I hope there's plenty of room for out-of-grade interaction in the second season that I'm confident will happen.

I'm surprised they didn't have a s2 announcement ready right after this aired, though. Oh well, maybe we'll get gems when they do announce it.

I enjoyed the recap bit, but I'd really have preferred new stuff. Something like it would have made for a fantastic start to a 2nd season.

Real good show. Probably my second favorite of the season behind Mob Psycho 100

Chika's mom is really tiny which caught me by surprise. I also liked how RIko thought she was a ghost

What an amazing show. Really. They even managed to get me invested in the whole saving the school thing and tied a lot of what happened in the show back into it, which I thought impossible. I think I mentioned it earlier on but I loved how Uranohoshi basically has a character of it's own. The community is great and supports the girls throughout the entire show, and so Aqours saving the school means a lot more and in the end all the students show up and contribute to saving the school in their own way. Which was fantastic. And I know the whole recap/here's-how-we-got-her story was kinda hokey but I basically saw this whole episode as a coda. Of how far everyone's come. So I dunno I thought it fit.

Man, i've got lots of things to say about this show and all of them good, but I think i'll just say I love the visual of the glow sticks from all the Uranohoshi girls lighting up the stadium in the final song, I love how Chika became to the rest of the girls at the school what Honoka and µ's was to her. And the fact that 0 to 1 became a running theme in the whole later half of the season was really really cool and made their struggles seem like a big deal and an important arc for everyone. What a good show.

There's no way they're ending with that. We still don't know whether the school's saved! Aqours hasn't yet won the Love Live!! And there's still Chika's vaguely foreshadowed backstory of apparently always quitting when she got invested in things, which got a decent bit of focus this episode. There's definitely going to be a second season. It just hasn't been announced yet.

I recommend checking out videos of one of those performances specifically; there's a great moment of glow stick colour unity when Emitsun goes into Honoka's solo.

Yeah, the entire venue just goes orange like how this one went blue. It's an amazing thing to see.

Also, vaguely disappointed that after all the "0 to 1" theme stuff they had going on in the latter half of the season, they didn't actually sing "Step! Zero to One" like they've been teasing for so drat long. I guess that's what next season (because they're bound to have another season) will be for. I guess the song they did here was pretty good though. That recap was great too, but I wonder why the prelims gave Aqours that much time to set up their song.

I still say that Muse has been sealed away, waiting for the day when they have to defend Idoldom.

This was a good show! I think I liked it better than the original. It just seemed more...put together. I cared about the characters and the school a little more. I also liked the rivals a lot more--Saint Snow were a hell of a lot more interesting than A-RISE.

I'm pretty sure that prelude play wouldn't actually be allowed in the Love Live competition considering it's length and they surely used up their allocated time.

Overall a good show. Started off really weak but had a strong second half. Didn't really live up to the original series but I didn't expect it to.

Idolm@ster has a really cool one for Rebellion where in the middle of the song all the fans go from blue to red in an instant when the lyric "aka" comes up.

Yeah this.

I realized when little honkers showed up last week. There was a time when I thought Sunshine was really gross and the characters ridiculous ripoffs of the original cast. But now they are the default.

Except Mari who will strain belief forever. Which might be the point.

Sunshine improved on everything that made the original so great, and that's a hell of an accomplishment for a sequel to pull off.
