I've run Uncharted Worlds a few times, it's really awesome. I love the build-your-own playbook idea and it handles your space opera gear porn with a really flexible tag-based equipment system.

Why the deuce is Dungeon World itself not part of the sale?!

If I had to guess, probably Koebel and Sage deciding they don't need it to be. The guy in charge of DTRPG personally mailed me (and probably every other person whose stuff is on sale), asking if I wanted my products to be part of it and, if so, which ones. So if Dungeon World itself isn't in on it, then either they didn't want in on the promotion, or didn't reply to his email in time. And considering Dungeon World is only $10, them deciding to never put it even further on sale kinda makes sense. It is a ridiculously cheap book for how much is in it.

Is Uncharted Worlds pretty decent? How about Legacy: Life Among the Ruins? They're the only PBtA games in that sale that I don't have, that I'm interested in.

RPGNow/DriveThru is doing a charity bundle to benefit Standing Rock. It's a $40 bundle, and has a lot of core books (Reign, Sorcerer, Adventures in the East Mark, The Space Hack), supplements, and novels. It also has the first volume of Designers & Dragons.

The setting's pretty cool, although it suffers fom being a wargame setting where everyone's at war with each other all the time. I haven't played the modern rules, but I recall hearing they're decent, if miniature-heavy.

I do like the "build your own class" system that lets you combine two careers and gives you the starting gear for both right off the bat. (Warcasters start with the expensive as hell warcaster armor, one of the careers can start with a light labor jack off the bat, etc.)

Have the Drive-thru sites been making GBS threads the bed for anyone else lately? I had to fight to download Apocalypse World the other day, and just now it's booted me in the middle of trying to buy the Standing Rock bundle and refusing to let me log back in.

I was wondering if it was just me. Two days ago it was not accepting my credit card for unknown reasons. A day ago it worked fine.

I just got back in, and the sale apparently went through. No receipt yet, and the site broke when I tried to download something, but I guess that's progress. I hope it doesn't end up an ongoing issue, I like those sites.

There's only one edition of Dresden Files, which uses the version of Fate from before Fate Core. So yes, it's a little clunky and not quite as refined.

Drone posted:Song of Ice and Fire RPG any good? The basic rules system is actually solid, but combat breaks very fast once characters start to develop their skills, social combat is very detailed; the house management and mass combat rules are a steaming mess. If you want to play schemers in King's Landing it will probably work great; if you want to be Hedge knights wandering the land or a minor noble house trying to navigate the War of the Five Kings hack some other system or be prepared to rewrite large parts of the game. The Chronicle Starter has some really fun content if you want to run a Riverlands campaign in that system or another, but is horribly edited. DriveThru has declared this week Teach Your Kids to Game Week and is appropriately having a sale on educational/kid-friendly games. Standouts that are appropriate for adults in addition to children (of varying ages) include:
And if you're looking for something that's focused more on introducing children to RPGs, I'd like to highlight the following titles: Additionally, there are a few products – such as some things for ICONS and supplements that aren't linked for some of the above product lines – that don't currently have discounted prices. I'm not sure if they're supposed to and that oversight will hopefully be rectified, or if they've been accidentally included in the sale category.

Welp, it's Black Friday. Time to start sharing sales. DriveThru is doing a Black Friday Sale, with six "featured" books: Werewolf 20th for $15, Shadow of the Demon Lord for $10, Savage Worlds Deluxe for $5, Symbaroum for $9.50, Night's Black Agents for $12.50, and Heroes of Horror (3.5e) for $7.50. Out of those, Nights Black Agents and Shadow of the Demon Lord are the two I recommend. NBA is "Jason Bourne v vampires" using the Gumshoe system, where you play former secret agents who learn that there really is a worldwide conspiracy running everything. And what's worse, it's a conspiracy comprised of vampires. And what's even worse? The vampires know you know. ProfessorProf did a really good F&F review of the core book. Shadow of the Demon Lord is an OSR-ish dark, low low fantasy game that takes place in a world suffering from invasions of multiple dark dimensions. The game uses bounded math and a simple advantage/disadvantage system to keep the math from going off the rails, and works off a 10 level everyone-advances-at-the-same-rate system. It's also got a multiclassing system that doesn't suck! Want to be a Priest/Berzerker/Gunslinger? Sure, go for it. On top of that, Robert Schwalb has been cranking out new classes, adventures, region-based setting books, and rules extensions on a weekly basis for like a year. There's even a setting book coming out that's "modern day Earth gets invaded by the Demon Lord, becomes Mad Max with magic." It's very much an EM recommends for what that's worth. e: Oh, and since I know people will ask: in SotDL, it's possible for the fighty-types to kick as much rear end as the casters at high levels. To piggyback onto EM's recommendation, Night's Black Agents has a brilliant GM tool for creating a conspiracy plot called the "Conspyramid". Think of how the Mafia is set up or the fictional Stringer Bell/Avon Barksdale criminal family in the Wire. http://site.pelgranepress.com/files/conspyramid.pdf Well worth the price of admission for NBA and usable for any game system.

Modiphius is having a Black Friday weekend sale of 30% off all their products. https://www.modiphius.net/collections/black-friday-weekend The main lines are: Achtung! Cthulhu, which is Cthulhu in world war 2 with mixed reviews. Uses savage worlds, call of Cthulhu, or a corebook for Fate. Mutant Chronicles, which is a setting similar to the warhammer 40K one and uses the Modiphius house system. If you like a system about the complexity of savage worlds with more focus on meta-currency, it's pretty nice. MUTANT: Year Zero, which is based on a Swedish game and is totally fantastic. Imagine a cross between dungeon world, exploring a grid map one square at a time while rationing supplies, and players all managing a settlement and its politics together. It's really really cool. Symbaroum, which seems like generic horror fantasy with a generic system. Fragged Empire, which has been talked up before in this forum. It's a space setting with tactical combat and cool rules for resource management. Mindjammer, which is a hard sci-fi setting in fate. I have no idea how good it is, beyond the fact that it's a several hundred page rulebook using the Fate rules, and thus makes me kinda leery. Anyway, if people want a recommendation, buy MUTANT Year Zero. It's super cool and does an amazing job of having the mechanics themselves be emblematic of the theme of decay.
