Danny Brown at The Phoenix in November sounds like it would be a cool experience. That's the only venue I ever enjoyed shows at in Toronto. I don't know if they ever had hip hop at the horseshoe tavern though.

I thought his other two tapes from this year were good. Teamsesh has some nice producers, that vegard veslelia guy notably.

You can deal with it in that his music is bad

I'm pleasantly surprised with the success he's had in the 4 years since I started following him.

This is The Roots Picnic where yesterday's headliner was The Roots + John Mayer and today's is David Byrne/Wu Tang/Nile Rodgers and everyone young is across town at the other festival where Kanye is playing so audience reactions were mixed to put it mildly

Great set tho

Roots Picnic in general was dope and the chillest fest I've ever been to. Black Thought did this "live mixtape" bit where he just brought a bunch of dudes out to play their poo poo, like Big Daddy Kane playing Ain't No Half-Steppin. Also Nile Rodgers brought out Sugarhill Gang in the middle of Good Times and I didn't think they actually existed in any capacity anymore? So that was neat to see.

I had free artist passes so I only went Sunday to see Chance and Kanye.

Chance played an 1.5 hour set, full with Puppets and set design, it was great. He definitely did his tour show and not a festival show.

Kanye was also great, except for the set being cut short for family reasons, but I was having a blast. Definitely glad I got to see him twice this summer.

Festival was a little weak overall but solid for a first year. The free drinks + Free Food + Viewing area definitely helped!

I also really enjoyed that the latest set started at 8 and not like midnight so I could get home at a decent hour before work today (Im getting old).

One weird thing is that everyone was like 13-16 years old
