The company he works for puts out well fires by sticking new wells on top to smother them. One of their clients had a similarly sized Lithium Ion battery catch fire. It is the only time they have told a client to gently caress off and just let it burn.

Her husband tried to catch a baseball during a backyard game and it dislocated a finger. He watched too many movies, so he tried to yank it straight to reset it. CRACK Hairline fractures and horrifying pain followed.

Adrenaline is one hell of a drug, indeed. About a week ago I tripped on the sidewalk and fell, getting a nasty gash, about 3cm long on my forehead, right to the bone, and a big bruise under my eye. After coming to my senses in about a minute, I was all "I'm fine, it's nothing", when my brother told me that I'm bleeding all over the place. "OK then, I should probably go to ER." I didn't feel any pain, except the sting of the needle while getting anesthethic (got 4 stitches), and only about two hours later I started feeling pain.

I tore the extensor tendon in one of my finger joints, it felt and looked like it was jammed, but oh god it was not and oh man pulling on it was the worst thing ever ow ow ow ow ow my hand is reflexively curling in pain just typing this. After months of occupational therapy it was pretty much back to normal, but for someone whose hobbies included computer games, guitar and piano and whose job requires typing at a computer all day, it was awful. At least I got it playing roller derby and hitting motherfuckers, though.

Your breaking digits tale is less stupid than mine. I was going to bed, tripped over my cat and slammed my foot into a doorjam (yeah I was drunk). Felt like I stubbed my toe, went to bed, next day I could not walk so I went to the doctor with some help. I had fractured 3 toes and all of the long bones in that foot. The bones are healed but I walk like Verbal Kint now unless I try to act smooth and conceal the messed-up boneness.
